# Nidela

> Nidela is management software for nursery schools in Spain, built for the people who run the centre rather than for the families who use it.

A director's morning has four recurring problems, and Nidela covers those four. The first is the staff time record that Spanish law requires: every employee's hours, every day, kept for four years. People clock in from a phone, or from a tablet at the door with a PIN, with no fingerprints and no location tracking. When a clock-in has to be corrected nothing is overwritten: the original and the correction both remain on the record, each showing who entered it and why. The month exports as a PDF that can be handed to a labour inspector, and the staff's legal representatives can be given read-only access to it.

The second is the ratio of children to adults. Marking the classroom register takes one tap per child, and crossing it with who has clocked in turns a list of names into the number that matters: how many adults are in each room at this moment. The dashboard flags a room above its limit, and a room holding children with no adult in it. Those limits are set by each centre, because in Spain the 0-3 cycle is regulated by the regions and not by central government.

The third is the rota. Staff are placed by classroom and by time band, cover duties rotate on their own, and a slot with nobody in it is visible before the children arrive rather than on the morning it fails. Duties, staff meetings, school holidays and absences share one team calendar, and the reason for an absence is never recorded.

The fourth is reporting. Teachers leave short notes in a classroom diary through the term, and at the end Nidela drafts each child's report from those notes, for the teacher to edit and approve. That is the only part of the product that uses generative AI.

Nidela is an installable web app, so it runs on iOS and Android without going through an app store, and in any browser. Data is held in the European Union, and inside a centre each role sees only what that role should see.

Several things it does not do, on purpose: no family-facing app, no invoicing or direct debits, no health data, no photographs of children, and no record of why somebody was absent.
