# Lex Cloak

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.uk/software/695307/Lex-Cloak

> Lex Cloak is PDF redaction software for professionals who share sensitive documents, such as attorneys, medical and forensic practices, and accountants. It is a desktop app for Mac and Windows, and your documents stay on your computer.

Open a PDF and Lex Cloak scans it for Social Security numbers, dates of birth, names, addresses, account identifiers and many other identifier types, reading scanned pages with OCR. It also finds text a page does not show, like white type or words under a black box. You review each match, approve the redactions you want, and save a redacted PDF.

Typical uses include producing records to opposing counsel, releasing medical records, answering a FOIA or records request, preparing employee files, and removing personal details before giving a document to an AI assistant.

Scanning is free, and so are your first three redacted documents. After that, a subscription is $35 a month or $350 a year. Built by Monty Home LLC (Denver, CO).
