# docfox

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.uk/software/565412/docfox

> DocFox is a patient portal made for Swiss medical practices - typically a general practice or group practice with one to a handful of physicians and an MPA team that spends much of the day on the telephone.

The problem it solves
Most calls a practice receives are not clinical. They are repeat prescription requests, questions about a document, and appointment changes. Each one interrupts the person at the front desk. DocFox gives those three tasks a self-service route, so patients can handle them in the evening and the practice handles the rest of its day undisturbed.

How it works for the patient
Patients log in to a portal that carries the practice's own branding and domain, on the web or through an installable iOS or Android app. From there they order repeat medication out of their medication plan, send in a photo or a document securely instead of by email, book or move an appointment, and join an encrypted video consultation when an in-person visit is not necessary. SMS and WhatsApp notifications tell them when something has happened, so they do not call to check.

How it works for the practice
Requests do not arrive as a separate to-do list. They flow into the practice information system already in use - Axenita, Vitodata, Aeskulap, Elexis, triamed, Vitomed or Ametiq - so medication orders, documents and appointments appear where the team already looks. Prescriptions go to pharmacies through HIN-Mail using the official HIN directory, and availability is checked against Galexis and HCI Solutions master data before the patient is told a medication is coming. Booking uses decision-tree logic, so a patient asking for a check-up is not offered a five-minute slot.

What makes it different
DocFox is built around the Swiss context rather than adapted to it. Data is hosted in Swiss data centres, the product is nDSG-compliant by design, and it follows FMH recommendations and the HIN charter. Infrastructure holds ISO 27001, ISO 27018 and SOC 2 Type II, with key material in FIPS 140-2 Level 3 HSMs, and AI processing stays in Switzerland. Practices that only want online appointment booking can run DocFox as a fully PIS-integrated alternative to a standalone booking tool, and add medication and documents later.

Getting started and support
Setup is AI-assisted and usually takes about 30 minutes; there is no implementation project and no technical expertise required. Existing patient data can be imported. Pricing starts at CHF 40 per month per practice with a free trial and no setup fee. Support is provided in German by email, telephone and chat, with a knowledge base, documentation and video material, and on-site support where a practice wants it.

## About the vendor

- **Company**: docfox

## Commercial Context

- **Starting Price**: CHF 40.00
- **Pricing model**: Flat Rate (Free Trial)
- **Pricing Details**: DocFox is sold as a monthly subscription per practice, billed in Swiss francs. There is no setup fee, and a free trial is available. Four plans are offered, and a practice can move up a plan at any time without changing platform.

Starter - CHF 40 per month
Online medication orders, prescription transmission by HIN-Mail, a DocFox subdomain, web and mobile access, continuous HCI master-data imports, and local online appointments (not integrated into the practice information system).

Professionell - CHF 80 per month
Everything in Starter, plus the installable iOS/Android app with barcode scanner, your own domain, PIS integration for medication orders, documents and photos including PIS integration, patient data import, and Galexis availability checking. Each additional physician is CHF 50 per month.

Fully integrated online appointments - CHF 80 per month
For practices that want appointment booking only: online booking fully integrated into the practice information system, decision-tree booking logic, PIS synchronisation (for example Axenita and Swisscom) and holiday/absence management.

Komplett - CHF 120 per month
Everything in Professionell plus multi-calendar online appointments, so medication, appointments and documents/photos run on one platform behind a single login. Each additional calendar is CHF 100 per month.

What is included in every plan
Swiss data centre hosting, nDSG-compliant operation, HIN-secured prescription delivery, SMS notifications, the branded admin interface for colours/fonts/themes, and German-language support. Onboarding is AI-assisted and typically takes about 30 minutes; there is no implementation fee.

Notes
Prices are per practice per month, excluding VAT. Costs scale with the number of physicians (Professionell and above) and the number of calendars (Komplett), not with the number of patients, so practices are not penalised for patient adoption.
