# PressCal

> PressCal was built by someone who runs a print shop. It comes from the daily reality of a quote request arriving by email, the specification copied into a spreadsheet, the artwork filed by hand, the imposition done in a separate program, and the price finally guessed because the true cost of the click and the sheet lives in three places at once.

It suits shops of one to fifty people, where the owner or a single estimator still prices every job personally. Costing runs on your own machines, papers and click charges rather than industry averages, for offset and digital alike, and the imposition preview shows the actual press sheet, so the sheet count behind the price is real rather than assumed.

An approved quote becomes a job on the production board by itself, with the folder created on your own computer by the PressKit desktop app. Quoting, approval, production, inventory and invoicing are one system, not five that have to agree.

Trials run 30 days with no card, and step-by-step setup guidance is built in.
