# Book with Doris

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.uk/software/560121/Book-with-Doris

> Doris is built for whoever keeps the room diary, whatever the size of the organisation: an office or facilities manager, the practice manager at a counselling centre, the bookings secretary at a village hall, the administrator at a church or charity, or the community lead at a co-working space. If you are juggling a paper diary, a shared spreadsheet or a stream of "is Room 2 free on Thursday?" emails, Doris replaces all of it with a simple self-service system.

Your members (staff, therapists, hirers, club coaches, co-workers) book your rooms themselves from their phone or computer. Doris blocks clashes in real time, handles recurring weekly sessions, and can route bookings through an approval step if you want a say. One-off guests can book too. You see every room across the day on a single screen and can set seasonal or term-time opening hours.

It fits the way different spaces work. Therapy practices use fixed appointment slots; halls, community centres and meeting rooms use flexible hire; offices and co-working spaces use desk pools with automatic allocation. Rooms can be tagged with what they offer, such as a projector or hearing loop.

When you are ready to charge for rooms, the Diary \& Billing plan adds per-room rate cards (for example charity, commercial and staff rates), invoices and statements generated from the diary, deposits, chargeable extras and utilisation reports, so you can see which rooms earn their keep. You can also create membership plans and take payments online by connecting your own Stripe account. The money goes straight to you and Doris takes no cut.

Doris is deliberately simple and privacy-first. It stores bookings, not client notes, and never holds or takes a cut of your income. It runs in any browser and installs on phones without an app store. Webhooks and an AI assistant connector let it talk to your other tools if you want them to.

Pricing is flat per organisation, not per user, so it costs the same for 5 members or 500: there is a free diary, paid plans from £20 a month, and a trial of up to 28 days with no card. Every paid plan includes a personal walkthrough with Phil, Doris's founder, and support is by email with a full online guide. If you cancel, you keep read-only access to your history.

## Reviews

### "Give Doris a Pay Rise" — 5.0/5

> **Kirsten** | *21 September 2026* | Health, Wellness & Fitness | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It enables every team member to book their own rooms meaning I don't have to anymore\! I was wrangling with a spreadsheet, making bookings for 25+ counsellors. This was so double-booking and accidental deletions did not happen. I only work 2 days a week but booking requests would come in outside of those days so I never really switched off. It also meant that people wanting the rooms would have to wait for me to do it before they could confirm appointments.
>
> **Cons**: Nothing really. It does exactly what I need it to. I did worry about the cost being too low but after using the free trial I was really surprised by how good it is.
>
> Time saving, simple to use, no double-bookings. No more spreadsheet headaches\!
Within a week of setting it up I forgot all about the spreadsheet. My time is my own again. The team are using it really easily - the only time Doris bothers me is if people book a room that needs approval (a great and necessary feature though).
