> DeskInsight is a desktop app that turns plain-language questions into SQL, runs them against your own database and explains the results with tables, charts and text. Privacy is the core of the design: with a local model (Ollama, llama.cpp, LM Studio or vLLM) every step runs on your computer, and nothing leaves it. A hybrid mode sends only the schema, the question and the SQL to a cloud model; your rows are always read locally. Supported databases: SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Amazon Redshift, Oracle and Firebird, with no client to install. The app also includes an AI SQL workbench, a data grid with CSV export, a chat that reads your files and PDFs, and a benchmark runner to compare models on your schema before you rely on one. Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, with no telemetry. Free for personal use.
