Communication and better coordination among my colleagues

Secret projects, I can have much more privacy with certain information that I only want to share with certain members or none at all.

Pros

I like Asana because it offers something that other collaboration tools don't, which is that it is visually simple and intuitive. Its task management interface uses kanban-style cards to visually organize tasks. Integrates with my files and apps for seamless collaboration. You can attach different files to tasks, from images to audios. (Best of all, this is archived in Asana) Good
file sharing to create, store and share from Dropbox, Google Drive, Box).

Cons

No comments, personally I have excellent experience.

The Great Asana

Overall my experience with Asana was a positive one. My team enjoyed how organized it was and how clear each persons tasks were. Planning future projects was made easy and overall Asana has a nice and easy to follow structure.

Pros

Asana is great for project management especially when working in a team setting. I liked the portfolios because I was able to keep an eye on multiple projects at the same time. The overall feel of Asana is very neat and organized and that is always a top priority for me.

Cons

I wish some resources on the platform could be accessed without having to pay for them, but I understand. One things I didn't like was when I was on the go and using Asana on my phone I was never able to copy tasks to another project.

Asana has the Basics Covered

I used Asana to organize a few projects with a small 5 person team.

It was nice to be able to assign tasks or details to someone and know they are on it or have completed the tasks It was tough getting people to pay attention to it at first but in the end Asana kept us all on track

My experience was a good one, and I would recommend it for certain types of projects and needs.

Pros

Asana is a powerful team communication and collaboration tool that can help organize complex efforts with many people.

It has a visual style that makes seeing your information easy and logical.

Cons

Asana does not have many features, and in this regard it is quite comparable to the Microsoft alternative.

After trying to use Microsoft Teams and Slack fir project communications and finding them both cumbersome for our less technologically advanced employees, Asana has provided use with an effective solution that works well across the board for ournstaff.

Pros

I like that the platform is very user friendly and easy to navigate taks, calendars etc and ha sthw ability view things per project, per team or per person.

Cons

We do find it a bit on the expensive side, although i will saybthat vesus other software we've tried for team communication, we find this to be the most effective for our needs and therefore, worth the higher cost.

Ready or not, Asana is here for you

Overall asana is a great tool, I’ve setup an account for every company I worked for the last few years and it has been a game changer ever since. I do have quite a few years of project management experience so it is quirky and exciting for me to use this tool. I recommend teams looking to implement dedicate an internal or external PM to setup the tool for your company’s internal teams by understanding what current challenges they face when providing status updates on projects. This tool needs atleast 90 days to really get it setup for companies with 150 employees or less but will become an instant hit if you dedicate the resources to get it started

Pros

Asana is a great tool for the type A project manager or teams that enjoy craft organizational tools with a twist. Asana has a TON of different customizations such as creating rules for tasks once the completion date has been reached or allowing you to assign a collaborator to a child tasks with a parent action

Cons

Since there are so many custom tool options it may motivate teams to delay the initial setup of the tool to make it work for your industry or line of project tasks and milestones

Great for Project Management across a remote team

Used widely amongst the team across all areas of the business with vary levels of full engagement. We initially had all the company goals mapped out and had these filtering down into various teams sub goals, but then realised several of the teams weren't using the platform to record in this way, so we downgraded and allow the teams who love it to use it in the way that best suits them.

Pros

As a project management tool it's strong - lots of really simple to use layouts and project templates so no PM experience required to get started.
It's reporting functionality is great too, and goal setting is really useful to the team.

Cons

The price. We'd love to go for the biggest plan but for a start up it's hard to justify the full cost if only certain teams are adopting it. It can get expensive pretty quickly.

Asana Keeps Life Organized!

My overall experience with Asana with Asana was great! I still continue to use them because they keep me and all my projects on time and everything in my life organized. I have 8 million projects going on at all times and they keep me up to date and me on time, so I don't get lost in what I am doing. Between being a student and a self-employed employed worker Asana is a blessing!

Pros

What I loved about Asana was that it was very easy to use! It was also a project management software that was made for someone who is a one man show or someone that has a team of people working for them as well. They don't rope you by making them buy their software outright they give you a free trial first which is great because it allows you to see if it is a good fit for you and your team first. It keeps track of everything you are doing and makes sure you are getting everything you are done on time so that you aren't falling behind. You can also use this app on your phone and on your computer which is great because not everything be can done on your phone.

Cons

The only thing that I didn't that I did not like about it was that unless you had internet you could not use it and when I went to a different for country for business there was an issue with the time. And when I looked into it, it said that there was native time keeping for Asana.

Great project management software

Overall, Asana meets all of our needs and the large portion of our wants.

Pros

I love being able to keep everyone on the same page. When implementing our software product, Asana lets each person on the project know what is expected of them and what is expected of others. There is no "I thought you were doing that" or "what are we waiting on". Asana eliminated this. I also love being able to build templates that I can utilize again and again. I don't have to start over each time.

Cons

I wish that Asana had the ability to segment users more. I want complete control over who can comment, who can post, who can complete task, etc. Asana does some of this but it needs to be more granular.

Asana works well when you make it work for you

I have a positive experience with Asana! I have yet to find the perfect software in general, so it of course is not without its minor flaws. I'd highly recommend this product.

Pros

If you know how to use Asana and all of its features, then it can work wonders for your team. Asana is helpful for tracking shared tasks on a team-level, such as a team that is planning an annual event with multiple tasks, deadlines, and departments (marketing and sponsorships, event logistics, registration management, etc.). Your team's Asana can consist of multiple "Projects", with sub-categories within each project for your individual tasks. Tasks can be assigned to as few or as many teammates as you'd prefer, and can be set to reoccurring or one-time only. Tasks can move between sub-categories and between projects. Our team also uses Asana for weekly team meetings, where we check off each task as an agenda item, and will sometimes turn an agenda item into a task on someone's to-do list, adding a due date and moving the task to a relevant project.

Cons

Sometimes, the functionality and innerworkings of Asana can be rather complex for a team's comprehension. With some training and sharing of best practices, teams can truly make Asana work for them. The cons of Asana lie more with the users, as everyone needs to be on the same page on using Asana and how the team specifically wants to manage tasks. Every team has their own preferences. Also, as someone who represents multiple non-profit organizations in my job and has multiple emails/aliases, it can also be challenging if you have already created an Asana account with one email. There is a way to merge all your Asana "teams" into one log-in, but it is difficult to do so if you have already created an Asana log-in.

Pros

It’s an excellent tool for project management and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, even when part of the team is external to the organization.

Cons

There’s nothing I don’t like about Asana, but perhaps it could make the experience of duplicating projects a bit simpler.

Pros

I love managing social media tasks such as captions and hashtags for various strategies. I can manage the daily grind of social media from anywhere in the app and the notifications let's me stay on track for rolling out promotional marketing on a number of social media platforms. In the projects I can create tasks and lists quite easily.

Cons

Asana changes it workplace for the better

We’re very happy with how asana has increased our team projects work AND individually employee organization. We use it to help manage employees work loads and oversee productivity. This lets us manage without micro managing: so if tasks are getting done and the projects are moving along (as you can see with an “on track” measuring tool) then we are fine trusting our employees to get the work done. This would be much harder to accomplish without a tool like Asana.

Pros

Asana has been instrumental in helping our employees and team at a small nonprofit probe, manage and track individual tasks and team projects. It’s been a dream tool in project management across teams with the ability to establish a project visually to all with individual tasks and the ability to assign tasks to others AND see when tasks assigned to others are completed. We establish at employee KPI’s here at the beginning of the year and the Goals function helps us measure and track these with updates you can do monthly, either manually or have them update automatically, depending on your markers.

Cons

My only complaint is that it has more complexity and capability than we can use without taking the time to really offer trainings in it. So I know we’re using it clumsily and not to full capacity for our event planning for a large fundraising event at the end of the year. But it would take us more time to train using it than we currently have right now.

A solid intermediate project management tool

It's a positive experience when using Asana for our clients. It's not our tool of choice however, but it's good for that particular use-case.

Pros

Asana is a solid project management tool. I'd say it's an intermediate tool, with very good basics and plenty of more advanced features. I like the customisability and the way they organise projects and teams. The number of different views on each screen makes it easy to monitor projects "at a glance" and these filters serve as shortcuts into more detailed screens.

Cons

Asana is not the most advanced project management tool, and it doesn't target any specific niche. This means that you'll both find features many people will never use, while also missing some features you might need. One of the biggest flaws for me is the poor editability of messages and task descriptions. This makes Asana a no-go for any company with a writing culture, and often makes asynchronous communication harder.

Can’t live without it!

I would call my experience with Asana a game-changer. I would also call it an “industry changer”, because I have seen the impact it has had on productivity in both companies I have worked for that implemented Asana into their workflow. I don’t know how the current company where I work could run if it didn’t have Asana. And I know for a fact I wouldn’t be able to do my job without it.

Pros

I like that the capabilities are endless for how you can set up projects and processes to work best for your specific company or team. I also love that, on a daily basis, I discover some new way that Asana can make my job more efficient and streamlined.

Cons

Changing the “time” in the due date field is a little wonky if you are trying to type it in and not use the drop-down. But that’s the only minor annoyance I have.

Wonderful and easy to use project management tool

Helps me manage tasks with multiple stakeholders need to collaborate and accomplish the task in a timely manner.

Pros

I like the ability to create different views based on needs and being able to assign tasks and set a timeline with deadlines for each task.

Cons

I think the interface could be little more streamlined.
