In addition, the dashboard opens with a range of useful statistical insights, including patent status, costs, tasks, and other key data. We also appreciated the document archive structure, which perfectly meets our needs—especially for storing correspondence with our patent attorney and other related documents that would otherwise lack a proper place. We were looking for an easy-to-use patent management solution to handle our 48 patent families, comprising a total of 317 patents. Previously, we relied on an outdated database where patents were archived manually, and only two people had the knowledge and access required to manage it. With Patent-Cockpit, we found the ideal solution. After contacting the company, we were given trial access to the software and began evaluating it for our needs. The Patent-Cockpit team guided us through the process and provided an initial introduction, enabling us to properly test the system. We quickly found the software to be intuitive, user-friendly, and well structured. After conducting an internal test using real documents and data, we were convinced and decided to purchase it. Compared to other solutions we had considered, it was also very reasonably priced. Once again, we contacted the supplier to plan the migration of our existing patent data. The import process worked seamlessly—the data was perfectly structured and immediately accessible. Throughout this process, the support from Patent-Cockpit was outstanding. After the data was uploaded, we were able to access each patent family and its associated patents. The remaining steps were to add an image of each invention and a short description. This was easily done by using external links to the European Patent Office (EPO). We copied suitable images from the documents and added them to the respective patent families. We also used AI to generate concise summaries of the claims, which we included as descriptions. The final step was to evaluate each patent in terms of its importance to the company. At that point, we had a complete, well-structured patent database. Another key requirement for us was the archiving of correspondence with our patent attorney. Here too, Patent-Cockpit proved highly effective: each patent family and individual patent has its own dedicated file structure, and the integrated task manager helps track deadlines and renewal dates. The entire system setup was completed by one person in a short time, as planned. Afterwards, the Patent-Cockpit team provided training for our selected employees, ensuring correct and efficient use of the software. The system works flawlessly for our company.
