> Factora is an e-invoicing API for software vendors, ERP and SaaS providers and integrators in Germany. Instead of building and maintaining German e-invoice formats themselves, these companies send invoice data to Factora's REST API and receive a finished, validated e-invoice in return.

Factora creates XRechnung 3.0 and ZUGFeRD/Factur-X invoices (PDF/A-3) from a single API call. Every document is validated with the official KoSIT validator, and ZUGFeRD PDFs are additionally checked with veraPDF. Since 2025, every business in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices; issuing them becomes mandatory for most businesses in 2027 and 2028.

Factora focuses on the errors that most often cause rejected e-invoices. Totals and the VAT breakdown are calculated according to EN 16931, so rounding differences in the calling system do not break validation. Missing mandatory fields are reported with their business term (BT) number and a hint. VAT categories such as exempt, reverse charge, intra-community supply or small business are derived or checked; if the available facts are not sufficient, Factora returns a clear error instead of guessing.

The API is built for platforms that invoice on behalf of many customers: each customer can be set up as a tenant with its own seller data and branding. Developers get a free sandbox, idempotency keys, webhooks, an OpenAPI specification and a TypeScript SDK. Factora is hosted in the EU, and support comes directly from the engineering team. Pricing starts at EUR 49 per month including 250 invoices; only finalized live invoices are billed.
