It's the type of program that you install and use whenever you want to convert a regular document into a PDF. Later versions introduced conversion to other formats as well (JPG, PNG, TIF, ...) so it's more than a PDF creator now. It also allows PDF file manipulation as you can combine several documents into a single PDF file and it has support for multiple conversion profiles. > > **Cons**: Still requires an additional download, Ghostscript. Not the most intuitive interface. A bit on the freemium side since they introduced the PDFCreator Plus paid version. > > PDFCreator is ideal for whenever you want to convert a regular document into a PDF. Used it in the past quite a lot, as PDF creation was not part of Office. However, since Microsoft introduced the ability to convert Office documents into PDFs I basically switched back to what it offers.
