Both Data Entry Workflow and Data Quality Studio are stand-alone solutions which can be implemented independently or together, as required. On the other hand, MDM Studio is built on top of the application integration engine, Connectivity Studio, which helps in seamless data transfer and synchronization. Thus users will be able to harness some of the basic integration functionalities of Connectivity Studio when using MDM Studio. Connectivity Studio also enables users to monitor MDM messages in real-time, without switching between systems. Businesses could even implement all these solutions in a phased manner, by implementing it for one company or legal entity at a time, as per specific requirements.

The solutions in MDM Suite help users overcome many of the inherent limitations of using D365 F\&SCM. For example, users cannot share selected master data between companies or entities in D365 or with external systems. Either you have to share the whole dataset or none at all. Once the master data is shared, there are no options in F\&SCM to restrict the receiving company from making changes to the master data. There are an overwhelming number of fields on the master data forms in D365 which make the master data entry process cumbersome for users. Users cannot release the master data created unless all these forms are filled in. Moreover, the validations available on standard Microsoft offer limited data quality management features, making it necessary to opt for an add-on solution. 
With To-Increase MDM Suite, users can easily control what master data is shared, and with which company or external system. Users can not only decide which data is shared but also enable the receipt of master data from an external system and distribute it within F\&SCM. 

MDM Studio comes with a Dynamic Field Security feature which makes it possible for users to secure certain fields in the master data record and restrict recipients from making any changes. Users can, as needed, provide editing access to the local companies to update local data without being able to change the globally managed data. With Data Entry Workflow, users can be in control of who is in charge of filling master data record forms and which fields should be specifically filled in. The solution enables multiple users (from different departments, for example) to effortlessly collaborate in the creation of a master data record. Which means, businesses can allow specific users access to specific master data fields for editing. There are also data entry audit steps supervisors could take to approve the master data record before it is released.

Data Quality Studio, available on both F\&SCM as well on Dataverse, enables businesses to set up enrichment as well as validation rules at the data entry step to ensure that correct values are entered. Businesses can set up data patterns while configuring the validation rules to allow for correct formatting and data consistency. Businesses can integrate with internal or external web services to weed out data inaccuracies. Users can also set up comparison rules on data to enable the solution to scan and prevent the entry of duplicate records.
