## Reviews

### "Flexible and feature-forward, but not essential for me anymore" — 3.0/5

> **Carol** | *17 May 2026* | Higher Education | Recommendation rating: 6.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Microsoft OneNote was very useful for taking class notes throughout my studies, especially when I had access to it through my university’s Microsoft pass. It worked well with other Microsoft apps and made it easy to keep everything organized in one place. It synced with OneDrive, which helped ensure my notes were accessible across devices and backed up. Its organization system is detailed and structured, which worked well for academic use.
>
> **Cons**: The interface can feel overwhelming, similar to other Microsoft applications like Word, and therefore takes an excessive amount of time to get comfortable with its layout. The mobile version was underwhelming even compared to desktop, which made it less convenient for quickly capturing notes without my laptop. Since finishing school, I’ve also found myself gravitating more toward simpler, free note-taking apps that better fit my current needs. This has made OneNote feel unnecessary overall as a single consumer rather than one with access from an institution.
>
> Overall, OneNote is a good tool, especially for academic environments, but it feels more complex than what I currently need. As my use has shifted away from university-based work, simpler alternatives have become more practical for me.

### "Great Flexible Organiser" — 5.0/5

> **Chelsea** | *12 June 2025* | Education Management | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Onenote is a great space to organise notes in sections and pages. It has the option to add images or checklists. Perfect for organising notes and syncs across all platforms.
>
> **Cons**: Formatting is a little clunkier than other applications, which can be tricky to get your head around.
>
> Onenote is really helpful and can be a great way to organise and keep on top of notes, planning or just brainstorming. It is perfect for both work and personal, especially study.

### "Smart and Organized Note-Taking for Better Team Productivity" — 5.0/5

> **Bruno** | *26 March 2026* | Industrial Automation | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: What I like most about Microsoft OneNote is how easy it is to organize notes, projects, and ideas in one place. It allows my team to collaborate in real time, share information quickly, and keep everything well-structured. I also like that it syncs automatically across all devices.
>
> **Cons**: What I like least is that sometimes the synchronization can be a bit slow, especially with large notebooks.
>
> Overall, my experience has been very positive. It has helped improve organization and communication within my company. We use it to centralize information, meeting notes, and processes, which makes our workflow more efficient and organized.

### "OneNote in the Workplace" — 5.0/5

> **Samantha** | *18 March 2026* | Insurance | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The use of OneNote is one of the main reasons I am able to remain organized and on task during the work day. My role is comprised of many parts (finance, HR, office management, etc.) and OneNote allows me to keep track of daily, monthly, and even yearly tasks. Furthermore, the ability to document How To's in one place but still separate from all of that is essential. OneNote is as important to me as almost any other application on Microsoft Office.
>
> **Cons**: While I personally find OneNote easy to use and helpful, many employees find it difficult to understand. Many do not see the value in it which I believe is because it is under advertised and explained.
>
> OneNote allows me to remain organized while performing a role with many responsibilities and moving parts. Any important information is in one place and is organized by books and tabs for easy retrieval. The benefits to this program may be very personal based on understanding of how it is designed to function.

### "Excellent note taking app" — 4.0/5

> **Pete** | *18 March 2025* | Education Management | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It is integrated with the Microsoft Office system, syncs to the cloud easily, works on a number of different OSes and devices.
>
> **Cons**: the layout could be better, and it is hard to do housekeeping and clear out old notes. Would be nice to have a way of seeing old notebooks/pages. It also takes a few days to create OneNote sections for students in their class Teams.
>
> Overall Onenote has been an excellent note taking app, it works with stylus, allows inserting of documents, shows who edited the text, and works well for education where each student gets a one note in their class team.
