Happy with MyCase
I'm happy with it. As a solo attorney having a CRM like MyCase keeps me organized, it keeps me on task, allows me to make notes and status update, text clients through the platform, and get e-signatures. You can get away with not using a CRM like MyCase, but overall I think it improves my practice quite a bit.
Pros
It's relatively easy to use, it provides a lot of value in terms of tracking case matters with notes, e-signing, and texts to clients. Collecting money from client is also pretty easy as LawPay integrates with the software and you can do things like setting up payment plans. Customer service has also been pretty decent with the AI answering most things.
Cons
I was given an initial discount to sign up, but that disappeared after my first year, even though I was told it would continue. While this may not be exclusive to MyCase, it's also occurred to me that I may be hostage to it as there is a lot of case/matter data that may be difficult to migrate should pricing no longer be competitive.
Reasons for Switching to 8am MyCase
I was familiar with MyCase because I used it at another firm and they offered the best discount for a new solo attorney like me.- Industry: Law Practice

I always brag about my case and practice management system.
Overall very positive. I was not happy with the sudden price increase but alas the system has proven invaluable. Easy to learn and very user friendly. Very flexible, especially the invoicing aspect of the system.
Pros
Comprehensive and intuitive platform for case management, billing and practice managment/financial analysis. Very easy to learn and use. Makes invoicing and timekeeping a breeze. Even has useful perks like document e-signing!
Cons
The cost has gone up significantly...but what hasn't - some of the features such as mycase desktop are useless - if they add to my costs I am not using them and so the company should focus on its core usefullness and not try to replace word or whatever they were trying to do with the internal editing platform.

Perfect Invoicing and collections!
A fabulous and inexpensive tool for small law firms
Pros
Integration of Trust account and operating account billing, invoicing via email, acceptance of credit cards online at a reasonable cost, seamless access to timekeeping information
Cons
The only down-side to MyCase is that it is difficult to pull up, revise and re-save a document within a case. Not impossible, just clunky.

Gets the job done.
Overall I have had a good experience with Mycase. It has allowed me to operate and grow my law firm while ensuring a relatively painless experience for my clients through Mycase payments and the client portal.
Pros
Value for money. Originally it was extremely affordable and still had all the features I needed to run my firm more efficiently.
Cons
Mycase took a very long time rolling out integrations that Clio had for awhile. This included email integration, etc. I think they've definitely made up ground in that area but it unfortunately comes with a larger price tag.

Good File Management Software for the Price for Solo Attorneys
Pretty good for the price. The customer service is usually available, the interface is agreeable and easy to use, the unlimited cloud storage is nice, and I like a lot of the app/integrations like filing straight from the MyCase file.
Pros
Quick response/implementation to new good ideas for the software. Customer support is pretty good, no complaints.
Cons
Sometimes software bugs can take a long time to repair. For example, for the longest time when I would print to PDF from MyCase the auto date feature from the MyCase document would show the date as one day ahead. It took quite awhile for MyCase to repair this bug (months) but they eventually fixed it.
