PALMA offers a modern and resourceful REST API utilizing the efficient JSON format. The API is accessible from within the web client utilizing the popular Swagger explorer.
PALMA also offers what we refer to as soft integration, where information can be linked across different web-based solutions making it quick and easy to reference and access information across an organization’s different systems.

Security
All customers and users are required to use Single Sign On (SSO) for secure authentication. As customers connect their SSO-system users will experience a nearly seamless experience across PALMA and other company systems. Authorization, or access control, is managed by roles. Roles can be assigned by scope. Roles can be configured for tailored access.

“Configuration Intent” and “Active Business Case” are trademarks of Modular Management.

> **Jussi** | *3 October 2022* | Machinery | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: If you want to create and govern modular product architecture, this software is a must. It guides you how to create the modular architecture. Palma connects things together and you can see how decisions impact to the complete picture.
>
> **Cons**: Actually very hard to think what would should be improved. In some tools responsiveness could be improved even further and that is also done.

### "Everything you need for manage your portfolio in just one place: PALMA" — 5.0/5

> **María** | *14 November 2022* | Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It's really easy to use, you need training and support but once you are there, it's easy, everything is connected inside PALMA, the configuration logic is really helpful, PALMA can be integrated with other softwares, here we have different ways to see your data, for product planning, for engineering, etc..
>
> **Cons**: We cannot manage technical solutions in the full product variant structure and maybe a mix between CT and PCM could be useful
>
> Reduces a lot of time managing other activities like the creation of product structures and virtual assemblies.

-----

### "Provides model overview & efficient data management in a user friendly way" — 4.0/5

> **Carl** | *10 November 2022* | Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Overview and understanding of impact when doing changes. Efficient data management in a multi-editor environment. User friendliness
>
> **Cons**: Our experience of the system performance is that it is too slow. There can many reasons for this with a web application, still it affects the user experience in a negative way.
>
> Management of product configurator data, structure and part of the configurator logic

### "Great for managing a modular architecture" — 5.0/5

> **Marie** | *18 October 2022* | Medical Devices | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Excellent tool for defining and managing a modular architecture. The highest value comes from the way the tool creates connections, rules and traceability that are often difficult using traditional tools.
>
> **Cons**: The tool itself is not intuitive to use, so training is a must. But once training is complete this tool is excellent for managing a modular architecture.
