This means that teams can take advantage of the huge investment Amazon has made in this technology, and re-purpose it to benefit guests in the hospitality businesses. The guest portal provides quick and easy access to information about the property and the local area. Guests crave recommendations to go places and do things that you as the host can share with them, based on your local knowledge. The device will respond to guest’s questions and commands, but administrators can also proactively display information on the screen that guests should know about. This information can be scheduled, and also driven by events, such as an approaching check-out day. With just one way of using this functionality, properties generate hundreds of dollars in incremental revenue. Just by sharing with the guest that there is a gap between their checkout day and when the next guest arrives, and providing an invitation to extend their stay. The system can also automate this.

It can also head off problems by providing troubleshooting tips and avoid the direct phone call where managers need to walk through those steps personally with the guest. Guests can also use the portal to contact about reservations, maintenance, or housekeeping. Customers will then be notified via the choice of an email or a text message.

> **Pros**: Being able to provide a solution to answer so many of our frequently asked questions has been a great value to us and reduced the number of texts and calls to the management.  The guests are impressed by the technology and the capabilities.
