About Microsoft Lens

Microsoft Lens (formerly Microsoft Office Lens) is an application for iOS and Android devices that lets users capture documents, whiteboards, business cards, and other physical content with their device's camera, then converts it into PDF, Word and PowerPoint files which can be saved either on the device or in the cloud, through OneDrive integration. Handwritten and typed text is automatically recognized thanks to optical character recognition (OCR), enabling the extraction of text for later searching or editing as needed. Microsoft Lens can be used to store and organize notes, documents and receipts, capture end-of-meeting action items, scan meeting notes to edit and share with colleagues, scan business cards directly into contacts apps, and by students to digitize their notes or classroom whiteboards.

Mobile scanner - Microsoft product, good as expected.

As a microsoft product its very easy to use and fills my daily needs perfectly.

As a civil engineer i need to take so many scan/photos of official document.
Without loosing the quality i am able to take images perfectly .

Editing files is good option i used continuously.
Since its very user friendly , takes me less time used to it.

Pros

Very easy to use Microsoft lens, user interface is good, takes less time to master it.

Taking photos of paper documents and making PDF is very quick, especially you don't have scanner nearby.

Besides you can edit the pdf or documents and send the files to other teammates.

It can capture whiteboard also ,it reduces my workload , after meeting just taking the photos and send to all participants.

Positioning the images is key here when capturing images, text identify result is pretty accurate .

Cons

Sometimes i feel like text are not perfectly captured, need to take again steadily to resolve the issue.

One of a kind PDF converter

I have a lot of handwritten paper documents and being able to convert them to pdf is really useful

Pros

The ability to convert pictures of paper documents into PDF files. This is truly great!

Cons

Scanning is not always optimal, it depends a lot on the quality of the contents of the image to be acquired

The PDF scanner for Microsoft users

The application itself can be found in mobile stores, I would recommend using other types of scanners, as this one is a bit slow and can heat up the device a lot, but if it is for something very fast like scanning 1 or 2 documents, this one can get you out of trouble and more if you are a Microsoft user.

Pros

The biggest advantages we have in this document scanner, is that it is designed mainly for users who have the Office service, as it has direct connections to their applications, because when scanning your document with the camera on your phone, you can convert it to PDF or simply pass it to a Word document, PowerPoint or other Microsoft product, you can even digitize it or also in the case of students, scan the class blackboard and pass it as a document to save it to your OneDrive. Similarly, you can choose a document or image from your phone's camera roll and then share it or convert it to a Microsoft product.

Cons

When opening the application, I find it a bit slow, or it can even crash and restart itself. When scanning the document, it does not manage to finish scanning the document well and some parts are left on the top and bottom edges. It can also consume a lot of battery life, as the application relies purely on your phone's camera.
