Anything related to an investigation is saved in Column. We don't even keep hard copies once the documents are saved in Column. The Journal entries tell the story of the investigation. We did a customization to request and generate subpoenas right from Column. There's not much it can't do. Not to mention, if it can't do it OOTB, it can be customized (albeit at a cost) to do what you need it to. But, having said that, i think the biggest advantage Column has against most (if not all) of their competitors, is the use of Float/Concurrent licenses. this brings the overall yearly maintenance costs drastically down, as compared to their competition. > > **Cons**: The customization aspect get get very pricey. Although I believe in later versions of the application, upgrades don't take additional customizations, in our situation currently, it will cost us additional money for us to upgrade so the same customizations remain in the latest version. > > We use this application for our Non-IT Help Desks. Basically, if you're not the IT shop, you're using Column Case Management. It is the best suited application for this scenario. Many want to go the route of ITSM suite for this, but it's not optimal.
