It helped us locate sensitive data across millions of files and prioritize what needed to be migrated to our secure document system. The vendor’s responsiveness was also exceptional. They built and released a custom feature for us within 30–45 days, which is rare in this market. > > **Cons**: It is not a real-time monitoring solution, but that is by design. Scans are scheduled and can take several days to complete on large datasets. It does not show who deleted, created, or modified files, because that function belongs in a different class of product, such as a SIEM. This is more a matter of user expectations than a product flaw. I could compare it to owning a Subaru Outback. It’s dependable and does exactly what it’s built to do, but it won’t fly coast to coast. It’s not a plane. > > Overall, PII Tools did exactly what we needed. We needed to identify where our PII was located so we could focus on cleanup and migration. It was reliable, accurate, and easy to work with. The ability to export results to Excel was invaluable for analysis and reporting, and the reporting options were highly configurable. Radim personally assisted us with several complex queries that matched specific use cases, and his support made a significant difference. The product consistently performed as promised and delivered clear value, enabling us to take meaningful steps toward improved data hygiene and compliance. Value for Money A strong value - The annual cost delivered far more than expected compared to similar tools that were three to five times the price. Customer Support - Support was fast, technical, collaborative, and genuinely relationship-based. Radim went out of his way to help us, even working outside his time zone to accommodate our schedule. That level of personal attention is rare and very much appreciated. Ease of Use - Radim remoted in and guided us through the initial setup, letting us drive while he navigated. Configuration is technical, but regarding usage, one of our CPAs was able to log in and use the product without difficulty. When help was needed, responses were quick, and I do not recall any technical problems. Data Management - Integration with our file servers was smooth. We deployed agents on relevant servers, and the setup was straightforward. When servers rebooted, we just verified that the agent was running again, which we monitored easily through PRTG. Having admin access to the underlying Linux OS allowed us to apply firewall rules and install our endpoint security without affecting performance. That flexibility was essential for compliance and provided an added layer of confidence. ----- ### "A fantastic tool for managing PII across enterprises of all sizes.
