HiveDesk is a cloud-based project management solution suitable for small to midsize businesses. Key features include time tracking, activity tracking, task management and screenshot storage.
HiveDesk enables users to collaborate remotely on projects. Admins can assign different access permissions to workers and set up automatic screenshots to be taken of each worker’s computer. Along with mouse and keyboard activity tracking, this allows users to monitor how workers are using their time. The solution is able to generate reports and graphs on a variety of metrics such as time, activity levels and productivity.

Perfect for Our Business
Our experience with Hivedesk has been stellar and in fact we have recommended it to many of our clients as well. We have a large contracted services footprint and many clients have asked us how we manage it and we have told them of Hivedesk. We love the ease of use and simplicity of the client and interface.
Pros
It is extremely easy to use and very user friendly and intuitive. My work from home staff never have an issue with it, it has never affected our system or our operation and works quietly and reliably in the background. As the work from home manager, I find the reporting easy to generate. We don't need a complex system and Hivedesk gives us the information we need without a lot of clutter to effectively manage our remote staff.
Cons
There are only a few minor issues. One, when installing, the client itself is easy to install but you usually have to update your Java on almost every new install. Hivedesk does provide a link to update Java when needed which is nice, but it has to be done on most installs. Secondly, while there response through the intercom message system is fast and very effective, it would be nice if they had a live support or customer service number.

Tracking time with HiveDesk
We have been using HiveDesk for more than two years, they have improved the features and interface to make it more user friendly.
Pros
It is a great tool to tracking time, it is affordable and easy to implement.
Cons
Some features are not easy to find, like changing work sessions.

Value for money product
Pros
Tracking developer's time and productivity. Also the random screenshots.
Cons
The speed at which the reports are generated is very slow. Overall admin reports can be improved.

Great tracking platform
Pros
