> **Pros**: This has got to be the most powerful tool for geoscientists, it is excellent for doing well correlations (whether they are stratigraphic or structural), analysing well logs, or even seismic processing and interpretation, and if we take into account it's eclipse module you can even predict how the production will be, which is awesome in risk analysis

> **Cons**: Prepare to be confused and overwhelmed when you open up petrel for the first time, it has so many features in a really disorganized layout that will mean it will be a nightmare for you to find anything when you are training in petrel.
> 
> I do recommend that you don't panic too much at first because learning how to use petrel is really rewarding.
