> **Pros**: The flexibility to capture data and design a database application for reporting purposes.   Very useful for filtering data in queries that can be saved and reused on a regular basis.  The dbase language is fairly easy to use and understand if you are familiar with databases and how to relate tables for queries and reports.

> **Cons**: It requires an understanding of relational databases to effectively use the software.
> 
> I've used dbase to create custom database applications for multiple scenarios.  The ability to query data and create reports proved invaluable.  Its an older product, but still very useful.
