Power BI: Immersive BI Platform Experience in Review
Overall the experience with Microsoft Power BI has gone well. After learning the flow of development and how to transform/model data, a real hands-on experience becomes easier to navigate. Power BI is also connected to the Office 365 suite, so sharing and automating reports is a breeze.
Pros
Of the well-known BI platforms, I think Power BI excels in connecting the user to an immersive experience through data modeling, transformation, and visualization within the Microsoft environment.
Cons
I think the learning curve for Power BI is steep, mostly because of the ability to utilize DAX and M-language well. There are built-in low-code/no-code alternatives, but to do some extraordinary visualizations, you must have some basic understanding of DAX.

Easy to use & a great visualisation tool
Really good! I've been using Power BI for over 3 years and am an avid user of it. After demo-ing the product it my organisation, it became the primary software for visualisation replication Google Data Studio. There are very helpful forums and videos everywhere that assist with all tasks but the main aspect that i love is the integration into GA4 and adobe analytics!
Pros
Incredibly easy to use, has fantastic integrations with a wide range of products and the web portal makes it incredibly easy to access for both staff and clients. Highly recommend
Cons
The main issue i would say is speed of the desktop app, it's very slow and can cause your laptop to use the majority of CPU to run it.

Perfect Business Analytics Tool, Easy to Learn Hard to Master
Once you learn how to use it, its one of the best one out there.. also its expensive to get access to its complete features but the free version will get the jobdone.. the web version of this is good but you will need the paid version to get access to all its features
Pros
I like how easy it is to automatically generate dashboards without much efforts
only that function to just tell and it will create a report is great
Cons
I Didnt like how much complex it can get for a new person who just started using it. also a lot of its features are difficult to access. Mainly its UI isn't really that great.. its hard to spot things from the side bar

Power BI - Excel on steroids
I learnt Power BI capabilities first through Excel Power Pivot and then rolled out Power BI at my company. I liked it so much that I moved to consultancy and now support companies in rolling out Power BI as a career. I only work with Power BI as I genuinely prefer it over other BI tools.
Pros
Coming from a business background I found Power Bi easy to access, learn and ultimately master. It combines the best of both worlds: easy access and powerful capabilities.
Cons
There’s a few (isolated) things where competitive solutions may have a better capabilities : maps are one of them.

Robust tool, with a steep learning curve
There is a pretty steep learning curve to set up a robust dashboard, but if you stick with it the insights can be very helpful. For the price, it has been worth the effort and our team gets regular use and value from the many dashboard pages we have in place.
Pros
With the right data backing it, the dashboards can be adjusted and augmented quickly, sometimes right in the browser, to glean new insights.
Cons
When manipulating data, the language and structures needed are clunky and proprietary. For example, to display a date in a new format conditionally, a new measure needs to be built, written with functions and syntax specific to Power Bi.

Power BI is our go-to solution for all-things data
Power BI has brought data into our operations company-wide. It can easily go up against BI tools 10 years younger. It's got tons of chart types and customization options, a good number of native integrations, and it's easy to get it up and running in the beginning.
Pros
I think the dashboard creation is one of its best aspects. It has all the functionality needed to create the dashboard infrastructures of several departments that also update in real time. The visual customizations are pretty decent and there are a lot of charting options.
Cons
The embed feature needs to be improved in my opinion. It sometimes takes too long for embedded charts to load, and sometimes it just crashes when the data is too big

The Greatest Visualization Tool Ever Is Power BI!
My preferred tool for data analysis is Power BI. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, I occasionally need to obtain data insights and carry out predictive analysis. For me, Power BI visualization makes things pretty simple. It assists me in determining what kind of data storage the data would require.
Additionally, anyone can create reports locally on their device.
Lastly, PowerBI desktop is available to all users for free.
Pros
The most user-friendly analytics program is Power BI. Among all the data visualization applications on the market, it has the most user-friendly interface. It offers nearly every kind of graph, chart, and visual aid required for analytics. Data transformation on-the-go is made easier using Power BI's (Power Query) data transformation feature.
Cons
This is the one limitation I see in PowerBI, users need be somewhat proficient in writing SQL queries and the DAX language, which is used to produce the calculated columns and measurements.
However, little technical knowledge is needed for paginated reports.

Trusted BI Solution for Our Manufacturing Operations
Microsoft Power BI has been a trusty business intelligence tool for us. We use it to report on our machines' performance, creating active reports for employee-related data, finance dashboards, and more and more. Considering the scale we're using it, it's pretty impressive how little technical maintenance it requires. All in all, if you're looking for dependability, you can't go wrong with MS Power BI
Pros
Microsoft Power BI is far more dependable and performs higher over a long period compared to most of the other BI tools out there. It's performed very well in our security tests, and we very very rarely see any issues with it (mainly issues with fetching data from other tools.)
Cons
There isn't anything that'd lead us to start looking for another tool, but I guess my one concern would be the aging interface. It's a lot easier to use as we all know the familiar design elements, but I think it's starting to lag behind their competitors a bit.

Microsoft Power BI from a SharePoint Dev
The steepest slope to climb was formula syntax. It was a lot of testing in excel and trying to convert to Power BI. Luckily the forums are helpful, and most formulas are already available to copy and paste from the forums too.
Pros
I enjoyed the natural availability of Microsoft Power BI within SharePoint lists. It made quick dashboards and quick visuals easy, without having to navigate between different programs, I could just do it all in the same browser window.
Cons
The licensing and sharing was confusing and frustrating to begin with, but I guess any product has to make money somehow. We can't get everything for free.
