Reftab is Excellent Software
It is an awesome software and I urge anyone needing inventory or asset management to use this system. It is the best for functionality and for the cost
Pros
Ease of Use
Imports assets from an excel file as a CVS. This make data enter a snap.
Inventory Management
Assset Mannagement
Tracks not only who has assets, but the assets availability (i.e., needing repair or functional) also cost, age, maintenance and repair cost. This is great for working with inventory.
Last, they have awesome support group. They respond quickly and will provide one-on-one video call to clarify issues.
Cons
Cannot print a list of items in a kit.
Cannot convert template kit to kit.
Cannot see kits when loan rights are through portal access.
Cannot print accessories by category of accessory

Great New Asset Management Tool
I'd started w/ Reftab as a cloud based asset management tool for tracking and managing electric vehicle charging stations. I've also used Device42 then Insight by Riada as competing products because had developed integrations with Jira Cloud and Jira Service Desk Cloud for our task and service ticket management. Reftab continued to develop their product and has now integrated with Jira. Nice! The cost/month is currently less than 50% of the monthly subscription cost for competing products and the functionality and customer service are truly excellent for our asset tracking and management needs.
Pros
Great value for $
Integrates and Interacts with Atlassian Jira and Jira Service Desk (Provides link between the asset and any issues or tickets)
Bulk Import of existing asset information from existing tools.
Easy to setup new fields with different configurations.
Good filters to find what you are looking for quickly.
Mobile app/interface
Cons
The initial product did not integrate with Jira Service Desk. Reftab has since added this capability and setup was reasonably simple.

New to Reftab
It is taking us a little to setup how we need it but that is due to lack of internal resources to dedicate to it.
Pros
The tool is very flexible and continues to add features and integrations often.
I really like to integration capabilities, the software licencing management, the diversity in usage, and the price point is amazing.
Cons
Would like to be able to brand and design the interface for color and logo. Not a big issue but a nice to have. Also the location options seem a bit limited. Not all items are assigned to a person so we are figuring out how to assign these things to a generic loanee for consistency.

Regarding changing the color and logo, you can do this by clicking Settings in the upper-right corner, then selecting Display (the option with the paintbrush icon). From there, you’ll be able to set your own color and logo.

Reftab in Higher Ed.
We evaluated many SaaS asset management systems and reftab was far above for our needs. The product and support are excellent.
Pros
Reftab is extremely easy to setup and use. Its numerous integrations with MDMs and Entra ID make it a wonderfully accurate asset management and inventory management. The learning curve is easy and the documentation thorough.
Cons
Specifically for our college, we'd love to have a financial area where we can easily upload purchase orders and link them to assets.

In fact, we recently released an update that allows files to be attached to assets from the bulk edit screen, making it easy to link POs to several assets at once. Next, we plan to extend the vendor feature, which currently links to software, so it can also connect to hardware too.
