Introduction to Countfire

Very, very good. Getting to know the functions and tools is really good, and the support we have had has been excellent - [sensitive content hidden] in particular, who did a 1-to-1 with us, this was very useful and insightful.

Pros

There's a simplicity in the functions to the complicated nature that comes with detailed schematics and drawings. Delving further, I can see there is more depth to each function, which I know will be very useful for future use.

Cons

The load can take its time, but I know that comes from the drawings themselves, so technically it's not with Countfire directly.

Response from Countfire

Thank you for the great review Bradley!

Awesome to hear you've found Countfire simple to use.

You're spot on – when you upload your drawings to the app, they go through a quick preparing stage. Depending on the complexity of the drawings, this can sometimes take a little longer but if you run into any issues, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team on our live chat on the orange button in the bottom right hand corner of the app.

We're super proud of our support. As well as our live chat, we also offer 1-2-1 training sessions tailored to you to make sure you can get the most out of the software on your takeoffs.

Positive impact to our business.

Overall great. helped save time within tendering and have given our Project management team a great overview of what is required and items needed.

Pros

The look and feel of the app is clear and concise, ease of use is great. exporting of take offs are clear and well presented.

Cons

Not much to not like, usually the quality of PDF that make it hard if the PDF is not a good quality.

Response from Countfire

Thank you for the fantastic review Adam – great to hear you're finding Countfire easy to use!

Completely understand the quality of the PDFs you receive can be mixed. If you're running into issues on your drawings, I'd recommend sending us a message on the orange button in the bottom right hand corner of the app. Our technical team can take a look to see if there's anything they can do to improve the quality of the drawings.

CountFire Automated Take-Off Software

I could not be more pleased with CounFire. It is fast, accurate, easy to use, and has cut my time to perform a take-off by a factor of 10. Some may question a factor of 10, but try it and see that drawing symbols when counted on one drawing are also counted on all other drawings within the project drawing package automatically. Orientation is not an issue, and items not picked up are easily identified and added to the correct symbol list. Check drawings are also supplied as part of the final report to assure all errors have been resolved.

Pros

CountFire being a cloud based service gets you up and running quickly. CountFire Sales is there to get you started and introduce you to Technical Assistance and Training. The On-Line Help function is integral to the CountFire Platform allowing you to be able to function seamlessly as you work on projects. I can count drawing elements or make extremely accurate measurements in one tenth of the time I did manually without the cost of drawing reproduction. The Final Reports are perfectly formatted in MSExcel and ready for Bill of Material development.

Cons

I am still looking for a Con. I thought that since CountFire is in Great Britain that communications might be hampered by five, (5) time zones, but this was not the case. CountFire was there 24X7 to solve my self-inflicted start-up issues.

Mechanical review

Very good and enjoying using it. Making take offs very quick and saves printing off drawings and cost effective.

Pros

Easiness to use and quick to upload drawing and start take offs. Like how it remembers items i have taken off on previous drawings of the same discipline.

Cons

Cant change size of the point for counting items on busy drawing. For example the circle covers other items i need to count and therefore can be missed.

Response from Countfire

Awesome to hear you found Countfire easy and quick to use Kyle!

Appreciate your feedback on changing the size of manual points. I can definitely see how this would be super helpful. We do have a feature request for this – you can add your vote by heading to the orange button in the bottom right hand corner of the app, selecting 'Give feedback' and searching "Adjust size and opacity of manual points".

Best Estimating Software I have Used

The team has been a joy to work with. Nothing is too much trouble if you're having issues. The software isn't overcomplicated like others I have tried. It has easily reduced my takeoff time by a huge percentage! The accuracy of the takeoff software has also reduced the number of mistakes that can happen with manual takeoff.

Pros

The tender takeoff is so good. It saves me the most time and is better than any others I have tried.

Cons

The estimates are still a bit clunky. Adding in lines and sometimes a kit build doesn't work. I would like to see a specials tab, maybe somewhere you can add risk to specific packages. The reports are still difficult to master, but I am getting better at it.

Response from Countfire

Thanks for the review Paul – great to hear you're saving time on your takeoffs!

Appreciate the feedback on Estimate. We always welcome direct feedback on the improvements you'd like to see in the app. It would be great to have a chat to discuss your feedback. Just send us a message on the orange button in the bottom right hand corner of Countfire.

Awesome you've found the team a joy to work with – from 1-2-1 training sessions to help you get started, to our in-app live chat, we're on hand if you have any questions or run into any issues.

You're spot on! With Countfire you don't just get quantities, we also provide features to allow you to easily check the accuracy of your takeoff so you can be confident you've got everything covered.

We do have a feature request for a live database in Estimate. To add your vote, head to 'Give feedback' on the orange support button and search for 'Live database'.
