About Google Contacts

Google Contacts is a cloud-based solution that allows enterprises to store and manage contacts in a built-in directory. Professionals can create/import new contacts with details such as mailing address, phone number or directory profile and categorize them using labels. Google Contacts offers integration with Gmail, which helps businesses send emails to specific individuals or multiple groups. The solution enables users to manually merge duplicate contacts, star important profiles and delete or restore phone numbers as per individual requirements. Additionally, managers can utilize the search functionality to retrieve specific information from the directory. Google Contacts enables organizations to print profiles and export contacts in vCard or CSV format. The product is available for free and support is extended via documentation.

GOOGLE CONTACTS - USE IT, AND ITS GREAT

A solid, free contact manager that works best for personal use or small teams already in the Google ecosystem.

Pros

Google Contacts is simple and clean, syncs instantly across devices, and makes managing and searching contacts easy.

Cons

Limited customization, basic organization tools, and fewer advanced features compared to dedicated CRM platforms.

Google Contacts

Pros

Easy to input all sources of contact information for each individual person. Like the compatibility a specific person also has a Google account.

Cons

Contacts are hard to transfer from other systems (or I just haven’t figured it out yet). Easier to use if person has a google account.

Google Contacts has gone way downhill!

Contact management.

Pros

It stores contact information with rather limited functionality.

Cons

Google Contacts has gotten incredibly slow since they overhauled the GUI! It is literally on the verge of being unusable. I do have to add the caveat that I have a large number of contacts.

No activity log.

Why use anything else?

I use Google contacts for work and personal. By using two separate Google accounts, I can keep my contacts separate but still have easy access to both.

Pros

It's easy to back up and restore my contacts across devices. It's free and very helpful. It also has great integration across other products.

Cons

No issues with Google contacts. I've been using it for years and never had any problems at all with the app.

Always Needed

I believe with having a google account on every device I use I appreciate being able to find what I need fast and easy.

Pros

It stores every single phone number that I need and allows me to transfer them to any phone or tablet

Cons

It should have a way of noticing duplicate phone numbers so that I can stop from duplicating contacts
