Good software for Service based Trades
I had used it briefly, then went another route due to some "must haves" I had with the mobile app.
The mobile app has since come a long way and appears to have become much more usable for field techs.
Pros
With my employees being in the field and primarily using the mobile, it's nice to have a "mobile only" license for them.
Other companies require everyone to have a full license which, in my opinion, is a waste since they won't use 10% of what that entails
Cons
Mandatory on-site setup and no ability to have a trial instance

Excellent Program - HIGHLY Recommend!
Pros
They are continuously improving and updating simPRO. In comparison to other similar programs I've tried, it's not all pretty bells & whistles, it's bells & whistles with tangible depth and detail.
Cons
The implementation seemed cumbersome initially, but absolutely essential given the range of the software. The training was excellent and the customer service/help-desk is great.

Powerful product but needs to listen to the consumers and bulk up
Pros
Catalogue imports, Pre builds and Cost Centres
Cons
Better task management, able to have more users involved and collaborate via task management, improved project planning, Mobile app for field workers way too clunky, an enterprise level mobile app.Attachments for projects/service/asset is terrible. And accessing them from Enterprise is the same terrible interface/clunkiness. We have other apps being able to have attachements against certain elements and reviewing said elements much quicker on both ends. Its still very backwards download/upload functions.

A good tool for bigger companies, with an IT dept and training schedule
Once you get the hang of it, it's very useful. There can be some setbacks like price, starting up, scaling and frequent software updates
Pros
It has a user friendly interface, which makes it quick to pickup. It is also great for documents, communication with the team and can use it in the field via their smartphone app.
Cons
It can be pricer the smaller businesses, and there are potential add ons that you really need.

Disappointing and wasted money - HORRIBLE SUPPORT
I would not recommend Simpro to a single individual I know at this point. The run around and lack of care to resolve issues, or even address them, is astounding. I was told I would have someone from operations reach out to me by end of day (I have been trying to get help for a week), to only receive an email the following day it would be the end of the following week. Management needs to discuss how to handle the situation, not once has someone called me other than to offer me more "free" training.
IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE OR ARE WANTING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM. They do not care about the company they care about their numbers. You are not a person to them you are just a contract.
Pros
The only item of value with this program would be the financial reporting. This is a program that the customer has to work for, it does not work for the customer. My implementation rep was the only person who actually seems to care and did try very hard to make this work for us.
Cons
1. Customer support - if you have an issue, expect 2-3 days if not weeks for a reply, good luck if it is an issue impacting your operations, you will be dead in the water. Speaking with a live person could take days, the chat is always down, and apparently the office is always closed stateside.
2. The field app is limited, does not allow for easy use between devices, information does not get saved or stored and is constantly being lost. You also cannot search for customers on the app. It is very limited for functionality, service and quoting is all that can be accessed. The time clocking also does not allow for after hours service calls to be logged and documented correctly.
3. The "block" scheduling is complicated and does not work well for service jobs that need to move between technicians.
4. Everything is "view" prohibited, if you are not in the correct view you cannot do basic functions.
5. ON BOARDING COST - you pay for basic training of the program, which they have hundreds of online videos that would do the same thing - THEY DO NOT LIFT A FINGER IN BRINING YOUR DATA OVER YOU DO EVERYTHING. When I was initially starting I TRIPPLE CONFIRMED the onboarding fee was to help bring over our old data from Service Fusions, jobs/invoices/cost etc. I was told yes they bring it all over to make us whole - this is not true. You get a template to bring your materials in and customers over BUT you do this all yourself. ALSO, I was told the forms to be able to attached to jobs and fill out were not extras, apparently its a separate app and fee entirely.
SALES - The sales individual I worked with sold me lies, I was incredibly clear on what I needed and was requiring from our next software. I was told multiple things that turned out to not be true, and were confirmed by people in the organization that I was not told true items and in fact I was very clear about what I needed and had been misrepresented by they coworker.
GUARANTEE - This company does not have a 30-90 day money back guarantee for a non-functioning program. I did everything they asked of me and more during implementation, my rep even confirmed I exceeded their expectations of a new role out YET, I cannot get help on getting a refund for a program I was very eager to use, but has turned out to be doing more harm to the business than good.
I have done everything to make this work for us and just wanted a conversation regarding a refund and what my options are since the program really is not working for us. The lack of follow up and support from "upper management" on a so called "important and escalated" issue is disheartening.

Simpro - Maintenance Company
In general you need to go into the setup of Simpro with your eyes open. Test all essential workflows as there will be snags. However, once all the issues are overcome and teams understand and own processes the Simpro works well.
Pros
Once set up, data on a range of plant and equipment can be recorded and monitored in real time. Quoting is quick with catalogs and pre-builds available. The open API is excellent with a range of add on options available to customize the build.
Cons
The asset importing function is difficult to use as it is asset based and not site based, meaning you have to use multiple templates when creating a site asset list. The time management of real time to scheduled is very clunky and hard to report on for accurate information.

Streamlining our process
I can leave town and still keep an eye on jobs, billing and progress. I can approve jobs, make modifications by just logging in from anywhere. The time it takes to do a task of my staff and myself has been reduced tremendously.
Finding a client file vs just looking it up in simPRO is huge time saver!
Pros
Saving of Staff time, less paperwork, easier to find info on clients quickly. Also the log of every event from who created a job, to notes from a phone call. Makes it easy to look at timeline.
Cons
Not being able to share attatchments within software from office to field level without going outside of software. Not being able to modify inventory on completed invoice.
Trainers were great, but they were not familiar with my industry.

Excellent software to run our business!
This is a great software that we will be using for a long time!
Pros
Customer support is always available when we need them and extremely easy to work with. SimPro software has extensive features to grow with our business. It is an all-in-one solution for us and eliminated the need for complex integrations.
Cons
Setup took some time and implementing required a lot of tweaks to the setup. But, with the amount of features we are utilizing it was to be expected. It also really helped to have a Simpro implementation specialist onsite during the process. Much better than trying to do it remotely like we have with previous software.

Simpro Review
Overall, my experience with Simpro was positive. The software provided a comprehensive solution for managing all aspects of my field service operations. The job scheduling, dispatching, and tracking features allowed me to optimize my workforce and ensure timely service delivery. The integrated inventory management module helped me maintain control over my stock levels and reduce delays caused by missing parts. The ability to generate insightful reports and analyze performance metrics greatly aided in making informed business decisions. While the initial setup was a bit challenging, the software proved to be reliable and efficient in streamlining my field service processes.
Pros
One of the things I liked most about Simpro was its comprehensive suite of features for managing field service operations. The software provided robust tools for job scheduling, dispatching, and tracking. The intuitive interface made it easy to assign tasks to field technicians and monitor their progress in real-time. Additionally, the integrated inventory management module helped streamline the ordering and tracking of parts and materials. The ability to generate detailed reports and analyze key metrics provided valuable insights into the performance of my field service business.
Cons
While Simpro had many strengths, one aspect I liked least was the initial setup and implementation process. It required some time and effort to configure the software according to my specific business requirements. The customization options, while extensive, could be overwhelming for new users. Additionally, the pricing structure could be more flexible, as some features were only available in higher-priced plans. Despite these minor drawbacks, once the system was set up, it proved to be a valuable asset for my field service business.

simPRO as a paperless program
We find we are not losing job cards anymore which means we get to charge out every job that is complete. But we still have to manually check jobs that the technician may not have used the correct status. This can be a bit frustrating and time consuming.
Invoicing is very easy and great to be able to delete one if it needs improvements or change the charge to customer etc.
Copying jobs is another great feature and also creating recurring jobs is fantastic.
Once you get the hang of it and finding little features along the way it is great. We have been using it 2 years and still finding out things but also still frustrated that problem areas that a lot of users report/request are not solved fast enough. We as users of the software, working in many different scenarios should show the developers what changes they need to make rather than what they want to add.
Pros
Great to change to Cloud Based product. Customer support is the best. Nice to be able to talk to real people and have them remote in and help with issues.
Cons
Not being able to keep any other modules open other than Jobs Quotes Purchase Order Receipts Invoices. It would be great to keep the People, Schedule Catalogue Invoices Utilities and Reports open in tabs at the top. I have to duplicate the pages in case I get a phone call and have to enter a new job or do a customer query otherwise I have to re-start my report, for example, all over again. simPRO is not very comfortable being duplicated. Dealing with stock is extremely difficult and transferring Work notes and Technician notes over to another job if the Electrician has written in wrong job or cost centre. Some reports are not suitable and you cannot customise a report beyond the parameters it was created from.

Game Changing Product
Overall a very positive experience, particularly with the level of support provided by the customer support staff at simPRO.
Since using the software we have dramatically reduced the use of hard copy paperwork, saving our staff members lots of time which can now be used productively on other areas of the business. Overall it has significantly impacted our business processes and enabled us to develop and grow as a company.
Pros
The software provides us with a centralised platform that integrates all aspects of our workflow processes. It provides an organised structure for maintaining all information relating to a specific quotes/jobs in one place, with easy access to all relevant staff members.
Cons
A specific area of the software we find challenging is the catalogue. The catalogue is very difficult to maintain as it works on the assumption that suppliers are able/willing to provide catalogue upload lists and doesn't account for suppliers using the same part number for different products.

SimPRO for commercial HVAC
Pros
The software is relatively easy to use once you understand the workflow. Setting up the system for the first time was very easy. Customer support has been good. The quotes portion of this software is a breeze.
Cons
Over all this software to me has more pros than cons although some of the cons are very big in my line of work as a commercial HVAC Mechanical Contractor. The office, administration, scheduling , quoting and reports are very good though the tech work orders (ie job cards as SimPRO calls them) are probably the one of the largest pains we suffer with as a commercial HVAC Mechanical Service Company. The main problem is that Simpro will not allow you to create one Service Ticket to send to the customer that shows the techs write up of the worked performed, the techs on the job and the total hours. If two techs worked on a centrifugal chiller tear down for two weeks Simpro would generate a service write up with the same job number for each tech for each day. That’s two Simpro Service tickets a day for two weeks which totals 20 Service tickets that we have to send the customer just to show the total hours worked each day versus having one service ticket that the customer signs showing tech names and the total hours worked each day. We have talked to Simpro Support about this and there is nothing they can do or will do about this.
On the accounting and estimating side of this software Simpro uses Margin percentage (Simpro calls it Gross Margin) and not Gross Margin dollars. From what I understand Simpro originated in Australia and they use mark up percentage where as in America we use Gross Margin so beware.

SimPro Suite is a CRM that Provides a Great Software and Excellent Supprt
All clients and leads are easily entered. The site locations are very important since we may deal with a Property Management firm, that has several sites. Each site a specific entity, ie., LLC or related corporate entity. Sites have different Property Managers, Building Supers and in many cases different Purchasing Managers and Account managers.
Pros
Our company, Tesco Fire Services, Inc., has been using SimPro for several years. As a sales and marketing manager, I used SimPro as a tool for leads, prospects and eventually clients. It worked fine for me.
Implementation Consultant with SimPro visited our office a few weeks ago and introduced me to so much more SimPro has to offer. She showed me all I was missing and how to make SimPro more effective from a sales standpoint. Also, how SimPro enhances our quoting, service calls, billing, invoicing and most of all customer service. She is a first class professional. Her knowledge of SimPro is solid and her enthusiasm is infectious. She combines knowledge with humor. Especially for someone like me that is not a technological person to begin with.
Thanks to her and team SimPro is making our lives easier, cost efficient and dependable.

Simpro is basic and clunky
Pros
It works for very basic things, and if you are a very basic user or currently incredibly disorganised it might be able to help you.
Cons
It is very clunky. The basics do not work well, and they keep adding functionality that seem unneeded and frankly odd. It will leave you disappointed at the core inflexibility.
Even with a huge amount of feedback to this effect, meaningful improvements are never made.
Get used to using workarounds.
