All Prescriptions, even a BP refill can only be sent by the provider. This is not a new regulation from the state medical boards or DEA, and that same non-controlled RX can be called in by those same staff members. In a busy medical practice, providers do not have time to review a draft prescription and send in all the new prescriptions, much less all the routine refills and med changes, based on standing orders. Makes no sense to put these barriers in healthcare.
