The sound can be modified easily with the array of available tools although I tend to only increase or decrease the volume level rather than compress, expand or filter out particular tones. I also like when I have been using software intuitively for some time and then seek out a quick training and it opens up a vast amount of bells and whistles to add to my experience. This is what WavePad has been for me. I cut and splice audio files, convert them and normalize them if I'm using several files in one project. > > **Cons**: I'm not an audiophile, so when saving a new or edited sound file, the options for different Sample Rates or MgHz don't mean a lot to me. Yes, I can go elsewhere for recommendations, but having this software tell me "the recent files you've been working with are X" would be a pretty cool feature.
