Mailchimp - Best Email Automation
I use Mailchimp for the email automation, & it fulfills my requirement so well. For any events that we do, Mailchimp helps us to send email campaigns.
Pros
Mail campaigns in Mailchimp are seamless. Email automation is robust, & the integration with social media platforms is so good.
Cons
Mailchimp templates are not customizable like its competitors. They should improve on that.

Mailchip Free Version
I am very happy using Mailchimp for my small non-profit and am currently using the free version which meets our needs currently. As we expand, we may upgrade, and we are exploring switching our website to Mailchip as well. Currently we have a popup on our website that lets people sign up for our Mailchip newsletter, which is a great tool.
Pros
I like having all of my contacts in once place, and it keep track of my newsletters, plus it integrates with social media like Facebook and Instagram. Also that it tracks opens and clicks for any campaigns you send out.
Cons
The user interface can be a little confusing to edit newsletters, since it's not actually done in the screen where the preview is, it's done in a text box on the side, which makes sense because you can change font color, size and type there. I just always automatically want to click on the preview to make changes.

Too Expensive, There Are Better Alternatives
We used Mailchimp for many years, but decided to move to other ESPs as their pricing is not competitive.
Pros
Mailchimp has good deliverability and their automation interface was easy to use.
Cons
Mailchimp's pricing was too expensive. There are many companies that provide similar services (ConvertKit, Brevo, ect). It should not be too expensive to send an email to your readers.
Reasons for Switching to Mailchimp
Mailchimp had the best free tier when we started, but as we grew the larger plans became crazy expensive.- Industry: Marketing & Advertising

Full-featured email, landing pages, groups and automations
As Mailchimp is usually used by companies, this is the first software I gained experience with as an in-house marketer. It's easy to set up and import subscribers. While the interface can be a bit confusing, it's not hard to figure out how to do things.
Pros
It's easy to use and provides a wide variety of tools to help you grow and manage your email list. I like that I can create landing pages and filter signups into groups based on their interests.
Cons
Because Mailchimp has so many features it can be a bit hard to find what you are looking for sometimes. However, there are a lot of articles in the knowledge database. I don't find their site builder to be as simple to use as what is offered by other email providers.

MailChimp out done by Mailpoet
I used MailChimp for multiple clients over a 6 year period. Since then I have switched over to MailPoet, which has a robust out of the box set up, and very easy to teach end users.
Pros
It started off as a great utility for doing email campaigns and collecting your customer base info.
Cons
As Mailchimp evolved, it turned into a money pit for any type of good functionality.
