Proclaim - a well thought-out legal practice management system
The client I worked with on Proclaim uses the software as their practice management system. We have extended and customised the product to suit their requirements, and at times have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with the software. Equally there are areas of Proclaim that, because there is no requirement for them within my client, I have no real reason to get involved with - for example the MIWH (management information warehouse).
Pros
I like the entire presentation of the workspace - compared to some other legal management programs I have used it is well laid out and easy to find things. As it's based on a 4GL database, it's simple to create new database fields, create your own functions and procedures that can run on demand or on triggers you can define, and all the screens that users have access to to manage cases are completely customisable. You can even set up your own complete new matter type if you wish. The support is good; I was privileged to attend all the available training courses at the time I started working with Proclaim, and the staff were always very helpful.
Cons
Given that the product is so flexible and extensible, it is very easy to get in a mess if you are not sure what you are doing. Beware the System Matrix!

Works Well for All
Despite my limited use thus far, I have only had positive experiences with Proclaim. It does what it is supposed to do, and it does it efficiently.
Pros
I love how easy it is to use and be trained on. It helps streamline and merge multiple processes/systems and maintain confidentiality, which is imperative to our clients. It also helps us build and maintain a high standard in our industry.
Cons
There is nothing I have seen or experienced so far that I do not like.
