So intuitive, there's virtually no learning curve - I'm amazed.

Copper is designed so efficiently that its use is done intuitively. There's, quite literally, no real learning curve to speak of, yet it is very powerful and let's me get things done very quickly without wasting my time on figuring out how to use the product.

Pros

How incredibly easy it is to use yet how powerful it is. Its design is so intuitive that there really isn't a learning curve, I understood it instantly!

Cons

It doesn't allow me to customize the product as much as I'd like. I've designed software in the past and I tend to change software to suit my unique needs.

Meh is pretty accurate

Describe your overall experience with Copper: meh

Pros

simple UI, good integration market for automating related tools

Cons

simple UI is also clunky and at times nonfunctional

the gmail extension breaks some basic gmail functionality which I reported probably 2 years ago at this point, with no resolution

the customer service is slower than before and literally no one wants to talk to a bot

the reporting tools are rudimentary, and i follow a concise 26-step process using the Copper API to extract customer emails when breaking down by certain criteria... not exactly user-friendly

Copper is so much better vs other CRMs: better UI, controls, and pricing!

Overall, I enjoy Copper much more than many of the other CRMs. In addition to the typical CRM features and functions, it performs better and faster. Although there are less features available (for my package), Copper serves my purpose for the team moment.

Pros

- Great UI -- faster, easier, and better real estate
- Great pricing for the small business owners
- Propagate info when converting leads to clients
- Ability to add custom fields (Very important for our industry!)
- Ease of creating automation of tasks, emails, and workflow
- Tasks are integrated into our calendar enforcing front-of-mind & completion
- Control access by teams and individuals (critical for our contract basis model)
- Create webforms/widget to generate Leads directly onto the system. (But must have your own website)

Cons

- Does not allow you to create custom reports without higher package
- Does not have ability to see if client has opened the email. It only log emails related to the contact.
- Does not have built-in mass email and tracking

Excellent CRM with tremendous features without the over-engineering

Copper has been a great solution for our smaller company (13 FT employees). We can track notes on our clients, organize new inquiries for our services, and increase communication between team members as a result. We use Google Workspace, and the integration has been seamless, especially regarding our calendar sync. The connection to everyone's email is a huge time-saver, and it's extremely helpful to review something in my inbox and have their Copper profile pop up on the screen.

Selection of a CRM Tool for emerged startup

quite ok but the price was too high for such a product for a small startup where we would need 7 accounts from 20 people total...as we do not have a dedicated sales or crm person that was killing it

Pros

there were good reviews so copper made it to the shortlist in selection for a CRM tool

Cons

the features seemed to be good 2 years ago but the development of the product seemed to be not evolving
also compared to Nethunt the pricing was double so it lost mainly on the market price

Response from Copper

Hi Petr,

We appreciate your feedback. Since you left this review, we’ve recently released new and improved functionality in our platform from re-envisioned pipelines to our new forms and email automation features. We hope you’ll reconsider Copper in the future. We have much more planned as we continue building a comprehensive end-to-end relationship management tool for our customers.

Until then, we wish you all the best,

Thank you Copper!

Overall, I've been really appreciating having Copper around. It's extremely useful for organizing the hundreds of projects I oversee so whenever I have a call with this person or that person, I'm not scrambling to remember the details.

Pros

I like the UI design, the sorting features, the categorical colouring, and the consolidation of information/files. I also like that list item selections persist even after interacting with items, unlike classic spreadsheets like Excel and Sheets.

Cons

I hesitate to filter my lists because it feels sort of irreversible to an extent. I know it's not, but the act of going into the filter menu, changing pre-existing filters, and then pressing "update filter" *feels* hard to reverse. Subconsciously, I feel like if I changed my filter, I'm afraid of forgetting what it used to look like. I end up just sorting my column of interest alphabetically/numerically and then scrolling down the sorted list to the keyword I wanted to focus on. It would be cool if the filtering UX was a little less "daunting." I hope that makes sense!

Great for CRM, especially with Gmail management

Overall, I like Copper and its capabilities. I just wish its training programs were more robust.

Pros

Copper provides a comprehensive suite of tools that allows me to track existing clients, identify opportunities, and communicate with different audiences based on their customer profile. It is highly customizable, allowing my to create a unique workflow for my needs. However, the best feature is Copper's ability to sync with my Gmail-based work account, capturing all conversations with clients.

Cons

Copper's highly customizable setup is also its downfall: there aren't many resources for training to the specific needs I may have. In other words, Copper's training modules are very generic; their support is geared around how to use the platform instead of speaking to a specific need Also, there are Q&A forums and office hours with staff support, but there aren't many video tutorials. I learn best by following along in a guided exercise, but there aren't many video tutorials.

Easy onboarding, extremely tight integration with GSuite, but complete fail on email tracking

Happy with the tight and transparent integration with GSuite, but cancelled due to the failure of email tracking.

Pros

We bought Copper (previously Prosperworks) to get CRM integrated with GSuite. Copper excels here: using the Chrome extension, you get transparent integration of Copper contact and activity tracking into GSuite, which works especially well with small teams. You can set up your own sales funnels, forecasting and project tracking, and everyone can see all the activity they are authorized for.

Cons

We wanted email tracking. While Copper offers rudimentary and amateurish tracking, they have completely abandoned the feature, despite continuing to describe it on their site. Worse, the feature is getting worse over time, which points to an out-of-control development process. For a more complete exploration, check this thread:

We canceled after 3 years due to this issue.

Exceptional Experience with Copper CRM!

I've had a great experience with Copper. Their support team is helpful and always strives to find the best solutions

Pros

I like Copper because it integrates seamlessly with Google Workspace. It's user-friendly, quick to set up, and automates repetitive tasks and workflows. Additionally, fields and reports are easily customizable.

Cons

One limitation is that not all fields can be included in reports. This can be frustrating for users who need comprehensive reporting capabilities, as it restricts the ability to analyze and gain insights from all available data. Users might have to find workarounds or use additional tools to obtain the full scope of their data analysis needs.

If you have Google, Copper is the crm you need

We use Cooper to keep in order all the management of activities and projects of the company. What I love about this tool, is that it pairs perfectly with all google products, making it functional and perfect for keeping emails, calendar, alerts and more in order and up to date.

Pros

The platform allows you to create a profile for each client, obtaining data not only from Gmail, but also from google. It also allows to make calls from the profile of each client, as well as having all the history of conversations, appointments, past and future. We can also create flows of activities easy to work with the drag and drop option.

Cons

The process of integrating other applications, which are not associated with google, was difficult for us, but customer service knew how to guide us to solve it. Its learning curve can be high, due to its overwhelming design, maybe if they improve its interface, it would be friendlier to use.

I have Increasing my efficiency and business organization

Automating tasks has greatly improved my efficiency and I am able to set up custom reminders and workflows to ensure that no sales opportunity is missed with this I have been able to stay organized and not miss any important opportunity.

Pros

What I like the most about this platform is that it has an incredible integration with Google applications. As a business that uses Google Workspace for our daily operations, having a CRM that automatically syncs with Gmail and other Google tools is really a huge benefit and that's why I don't have to worry about manually entering every interaction with my customers as with this platform I can automatically record all emails, meetings and tasks in the corresponding contact.

Cons

While the system offers a wide variety of pre-defined reports and data export, I would like the ability to customize the reports a lot more to my needs and while I can get the essential information I need, sometimes I would like more customization options and Flexibility in data presentation.

Hooked in by Gmail integration, Pushed Away by Lack of Features

The icing on the cake for us with Copper (which had an easier to remember name when it was called Prosperworks), was that we decided to cancel and reached out about ending our contract. Since we did it after the end of the 2nd year of our contract, we were now committed for a 3rd year. We had to remember to do so a month in advance of the end of our 1 year. Now, anyone who is in SaaS knows that this is insane. This is a self-setup system (I may have spoken to a person once). The only reason to do this is to take advantage of your customers. This is a terrible practice and I wish we had never made the mistake of engaging with them.

Pros

We embraced Copper even though it was a little pricey for a small business and required us to commit to a year. Our main reason for using it is that everyone in the company has to at some points be a salesperson and we thought that a tool built for Gmail would be the best option.

Cons

When we started to seriously use the software for more than big contracts and started to reach out to a lot of prospects, the holes in the system were glaring. There are a ton of small things that just drove us crazy. We ended with tons of duplicates. To eliminate them you have to export to Excel, etc. Not fun and not realistic. Any mistakes during data imports caused all sorts of data problems. There is no automating of drip email campaigns. The navigation is so confusing. We spent a lot of time figuring out where we clicked to get to a particular screen and how to replicate it. I found myself being super careful to do the exact same thing every time because it shows leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities in an alternating left-right fashion that is just confusing. The absolute biggest is that there are no reports that give you any insights into how your email is performing, which is odd because they've written blog posts on the importance of doing so. All you can see is a running list of who opened your email or didn't. It is like looking at a terminal window for error messages.

Response from Copper

Hi Timothy, thanks for the thorough review. We're very sorry about the experience you've had with our team in the past, and we're doing everything we can to make things right.

We understand Emilia from our team reached out and was able to connect with you to better understand where we could better improve and address the hurdles you've run into.

We're happy to hear the lines of communication were open and extend that offer to you beyond Emilia's initial outreach. Thanks again.

A great CRM for a small to mid-sized company

Copper has been a great experience overall. Their Customer Success Managers are the most helpful, prompt and friendly people whenever there's a hiccup with Copper. The price per user is a bit expensive

Pros

What I like most about Copper is its built-in connectivity to all things Google. Auto-logging calendared events, easily adding files to records from our Google Drive, using the Copper add-on to easily push data out to Google Sheets and then Google Data Studio...it's great.

Cons

I believe Copper needs to focus on tightening up existing features before rolling out new features to compete with other platforms. There's a delicate balance between building new things and maintaining what already exists and I feel that sometimes their focus is too dedicated towards building new.

Extremely Limited

Tried PW for my insurance biz. It was a total waste of time. It took 20+ hours to set up for my business and did very little to help organize contacts/meetings/notes as I required. Also needed to be able to filter/search for data.

Overall, it lacked customization.

Wanted to add custom fields like birthdates. This proved impossible, as the date field required input via pop up calendar, so you'd have to click through every month to get back to January 1 1965. I talked to their support people for a total of 3 hours and the conclusion of it all was "the software can't do that and we're not going to implement that unless a ton of people ask for it." That should have been a red flag because it just got worse.

Importing data is super annoying. If you have a google sheet you want to import, you have to download it as a CSV then re-upload it, and hope the fields match up. It also adds a bunch of tags to crap that makes a huge data mess you end up wasting hours to fix.

The dashboard is a total waste of space. There is no useful information. The People section is basically a glorified Excel spread sheet. When you export your data it grabs the fields, but leaves all of the activity notes behind, so you cannot back those

Custom filters are another massive failure. If you want to filter by X but exclude everyone who already has Y, it's impossible. I think an undergrad designed this system because it lacks advanced features severely.

If you want to set up a daily to-do queue, forget it. You might as well use paper checklist or a spreadsheet.

Another major problem is that it will pull info out of your google contacts and if you check the box for Sync with Contacts, it will completely destroy your hardwork in contacts. It deletes data out of fields, such as addresses and phone numbers. You have to pay for another software called Pieworks to fix that, but it's also terrible. A simple basic feature that should be included is not, and you have to pay yet another monthly sub for something really stupid that should be there.

It has an app for android, and it was convenient when out of the office. You can pull up the contact and if you just had a meeting with them, dictate the notes into logging a meeting. If you need to call them, just tap their phone number, and at the end of the call PW is already logging your call, just enter the notes about topics of discussion. However, the app needs improvement in terms of the dashboard, such as calendar and to do list like a call queue or other service tasks.

You have to submit tickets for every little thing. It's extremely annoying and waste of your time.

I decided to cancel this, pulled all of my data out of PW and set it up in a spreadsheet. PW is barely more than a spreadsheet with a pretty interface. It's not worth the money. You might as well use something free -- or spend the money and get a real CRM with all the features you really need.
They will not let you cancel. There is no place to remove your billing information or cancel your plan. You have to submit a ticket and hope they answer it, but more likely, they'll ignore it because they are a greedy company that ignores the requests users make on their website for changes.

They claim they are the CRM google uses, but that's not true. This is a very immature piece of software that cannot handle a serious business with specialized needs. They may have partnered with

Pros

Interface is OK but needs improvement. The app was convenient, but needs a better dashboard.

Cons

High cost, lack of customization and features. Have to submit tickets for any help. Lack of training videos.

Excellent management for Sales Teams!

My overall experience with Copper has been great. I've transitioned from customer success to sales over the past few years with Copper and the insight I have at my fingertips is so valuable. I wouldn't be able to keep up with all my leads and customer relationships without it.

Pros

Copper is very user friendly, and easy to implement across different levels of experience for teams. Once you're set up, the CRM gives full insight and transparency to what's going on with my leads at every stage of their lifecycle. I couldn't manage all my leads at scale this easily without Copper.

Cons

At first I wasn't a big fan of the reports I had available (maybe personal preference here), but it has been recently overhauled and I am enjoying them now. Reports give me the data insight at a glance that our team needs for meetings. That tells me they are always keeping an eye on big impact updates!

Pros

Integrates with email effortless. Track every email sent to prospect or client - even emails exchange prior to adding them into the CRM.

Cons

There is no easy way to attach properties to Companies / Person like an APTO does. However, for us, client management vs tracking properties is more important.
