Great Security for Remote Access on VPN
When Covid hit we moved all out staff to remote work. We were able to set up MFA in under 1 day to increase security of connections to office network resources in a short time and feel almost as secure as we were when staff worked in -office. Watchguard MFA was an integral part of a comprehensive security approach
Pros
Very simple management, and the mobile app was simple use for our staff. The mobile app was compatible with almost all 2FA /MFA supporting websites as staff were able to extend security to unrelated sites used by the company that they visited.
Cons
Deeper integration with 3rd part tools. I would like to use for MFA for desktop logins

Simple to use and administrate
Pros
It is simple to set up, use and administrate to other users. I can count on it to work and in the few instances where working with end users where it stopped working, a simple reboot always kicks it back into gear. I feel like my logins are safe with WatchGuard Authpoing
Cons
Initially, upon setting up the app, some end users are confused by the moving line but once explained it is no problem.

Clunky, but works.
Middling. It works, but not great. I'm used to the seamless experience of Microsoft Authenticator and this is a few years behind it.
Pros
It integrates with AD and our Fireboxes, so the ecosystem support is decent.
Cons
Push notifications for VPN MFA are unreliable.

It does what it's intended to do.
It's limited but works well for mobile VPN users which is what we typically use it for.
Pros
Authpoint is easy and integrates with multiple platforms. I would recommend it for third party MFA requirements above others.
Cons
It's not the most intuitive to configure.

Watchguard for safer computers
Watchguard is an easy to use and reliable form or 2 factor authentication. When you have sensitive data to care for, Watchguard is a great option.
Pros
I like that firm can feel confident that only the person assigned that device is allowed to access that device, even if their password is compromised.
Cons
There is nothing that I do not like about Watchguard. It is easy to use and very reliable.

AuthPoint MFA and LogonApp
We use it for PC login and VPN connection. It provides the highest level of protection with the necessary security measures taken.
Pros
Being able to log in with just the notification confirmation after entering the password provides great convenience.
Cons
When there is a problem accessing the global system, even turning on the computer becomes difficult.

The AuthPoint gives us another layer of security.
Pros
The app is an important element of the approval process for AuthPoint. In addition, it's important to be able to allow those that needed access through the WatchGuard Cloud.
Cons
I wish the licensing aspect of the WatchGuard could be easier to understand and easier to manage. After rolling out WatcHguard Authpoint, it stopped working for some users because of licensing issues therefore we had to get additional licenses.

Great product for MFA and cyber security insurance regulations. Great product to make sure your VPN only lets connect the ones that need connecting.

I am happy to use it other than installation.
Pros
It offers practical use as long as there are no problems with the internet. When there is no internet, it is necessary to scan QR from the phone.

Using AuthPoint beyond WatchGuard products
I've deployed AuthPoint for WatchGuard mobile VPN client, as well as for OpenVPN to a pfSense firewall, and have used it to secure Windows Login. When configuring for the pfSense, there were issues that involved digging through several logs for all the services involved in getting it to work (AuthPoint Cloud, AuthPoint Gateway, Microsoft Network Policy Server, Active Directory and pfSense)
Pros
- support for a wide array of products, including MFA for Windows Login- Cloud based management- Different policies for geolocation (geofencing and geokinetics), network location, time scheduling
Cons
- per-user cost involved to use and if only using for mobile VPN, may not be worthwhile as there are "free" solutions available (ie. Microsoft Authenticator)- when using for 3rd party services, there can be a lot of troubleshooting involved amongst many services

Review on mostly CLIENT usage of Authpoint
4 out of 5 starts. Mostly great, especially after it is setup.
Pros
Once it is setup it is very easy to use, even very non technical clients use it on a daily basis
Cons
the initial setup is sometimes a pain, the user creation can be off by one letter in AD, and the only way to know is if you go into admin logs on Authpoint to find out

MFA with WatchGuard AuthPoint
Pros
We use the WatchGuard AuthPoint to protect and secure all of our remote staff that need to connect over both Ikv2 and Open VPN, implementation and roll-out were seamless and easy for all of our staff to start using.
Cons
It would be nice to be able to also use the app for SSO with O365 to allow our users to have one app for all their MFA requirments
