It's a cool tool to attach documents to a working paper with easy referral to the desired place in the document.

The data recognition gave me many discrepancies that I couldn't use the tool to check the relevant data

It is very efficient to use to create cross-references for test work, document matching and reconciliation. The ability to read data from invoices.
The ability to convert a table from a PDF file to Excel.
Cons
Document matching occasionally leads to links on the wrong pages if the number you are looking for can be found on several documents.

Datasnipper is worth it!
Datasnipper solves the time problem in audit by eliminating the need to capture support manually and also human error where mistakes are made when documents are captured. These documents are imported and the detail thereon is either extracted or snipped instead of being captured manually by retyping from physical documents. Which saves alot of time and also does not leave juniors stuck on tasks for hours and hours.
Pros
Datasnipper eliminates phantom ticking - one of audit engagements worst threat (the threat that an audit member will state that it is correct without checking the support or substance) Due to the ability of the software to import the support and then allow the manager to check it that what is tested is correct is fantastic. Also significantly reduces capturing errors made by junior staff when capturing a lot of support.
Cons
Some features are not available and require additional expansion or products to get the use of the functionality. The standard model is great but is not really competing with all the additional features that are available and you are limited to the subscriptions purchased by the organization as a user.

What I liked the most is its ability to automate repetitive tasks and speed up my productivity in audit and finance. With just a few clicks, I can extract data, cross-reference, and document the source of any procedure quickly and easily.
Cons
One of the drawbacks I have found is that at times the data extraction can be a bit limited in terms of the variety of formats that can be parsed. Sometimes when working with more complex files or databases, I have experienced difficulties extracting certain specific data.

I like it that DataSnipper allows you to export data on .pdf files which have the same format.
Cons
I have been trying to export data on .pdf files with different formats, but haven't had much luck yet. I know that it is one of the features of DataSnipper. I just haven't had time to look at the videos to learn how to do this.

Reviewing Audit Workpapers
Pros
Most impactful feature for me is DataSnipper can show where the numbers/words come from. This is critical when I review audit workpapers prepared by my staff. By this function, I don’t need to search tickmarks put in the evidence documents.Also, DataSnipper is intuitive to use, so it's easy to teach staff how to use it.
Cons
Table Snip is a powerful feature, but I think it could be better.If there is an option like Text snip that can indicate where the numbers and strings are coming from, work efficiency will be greatly improved. Currently I achieve this with a combination of Table Snip and Document Matching, but I wish Table Snip could do it in one shot.

I would 100% recommend Data snipper for use. The functionality does reduce significant time for the audit and also provides a valuable linkage to audit evidence from our audit. The casting function of the financial statements is awesome as it does not only casts but provides an idea of how the calculations were derived. Kudos to the team.

The text recognition feature is really good.
Cons
Customization is less, I would like to be able to choose the font of the input.For Tables, only 1 cell is linked to the source document, I would like for that to be the full table (so anywhere I click on the table, I am able to view the source file). Also, would LOVE the ability to link cells to documents manually.There should also be a default option to keep the data snipper window closed until required when a file is opened.
