My payroll experence
I have no complaints and I'm very happy with the payroll software and the professionalism that is provided. I love it and have recommended this to every business person that I know.
Pros
The simplicity of the software is so user-friendly. Also, if you do have a question you can call and speak with a professional and get patient and competent help and you don't have to strain to try to understand through a thick accent as to what is being said.
Cons
If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

Simple and accurate payroll
Painless, the payroll processing has been as simple as you can ask for, I have not experience any problems and I was assisted with all the questions that I had.
Pros
Ease of use and setup. The customer service team is extremely helpful even for the simple questions. I love the simplicity of the integrated timecard program, it make the processing even easier.
Cons
The only complaint I have is when there is a change on one person and it is found after the hours have been entered for everyone and you have to start over to make that change.

Using Patriot Software
We are just completing our 3rd month, but so far it has been mostly seamless and have only needed a little help from an accountant to set it up correctly. It is getting easier each month.
Pros
Patriot Software cost less than our previous payroll company and for the most part is much easier to use.
Cons
At first it was a little hard to get set up, maybe only because I did the onboarding myself instead of utilizing the option for them to do it.
Also, it is a little frustrating to have to submit payroll 5 days ahead of time, but this is partially our choice of how we run our payroll cycles.

Why I Always Recommend Patriot to Small Businesses Starting Out
Called cus service for guidance on how to modify tax deductions. Representative was excellent; spoke clearly, slowly and confidently and guided me to solution, I was embarrassed how simple it was! Rep was great!
Pros
Reasonable price, intuitive portal and highly proficient in all taxes - fed, state and local!
Cons
Altering payroll deductions triggered the rare occasion for me to call customer service. See next panel.

Great value with excellent customer service
I love that customer service is here in the US and the vast majority who answer the phone are 1st language English speakers.
Pros
The pricing is very affordable and customer service is great!
Cons
They cannot offer tax advice—understandably so-which means you have to navigate employers law on your own or consult a CPA, but the cost savings for our tiny practice are worth it! There system is full of free how-to articles and “flags” that help you avoid potential problems with federal and state taxes.

Fast, Efficient Payroll Processing
Excellent experience, enjoy working with experienced payroll associates. Easy to use features such as adding payroll deductions and calculating retirement plan company matching calculations.
Pros
Easy set-up, great ongoing customer support for full service payroll services. Timely, courteous & knowledgeable team members. Always willing to assist with any questions, tax updates, etc.
Cons
Would like to see ad hoc report options for special projects within the company; this would also be helpful for company expense analysis & projections. However, when downloading current report options to Excel, data is still reasonably easy to access and use!

Payroll software for the person who does not know how to run payroll
I feel like it is worth the price. I appreciate the support. I like that my employees can follow an email link to set up their account for automatic deposit and to enter all of their information in themselves. I do get lost in all of the different links and don't know how to tell what to do next or where to find information. But the support team is always very helpful.
Pros
Once you get everything set up, running payroll is very quick and easy. Also, I am not an accountant, and not everything was intuitive to me, but when I have a question, the support team is always super helpful and very clear.
Cons
I am not an accountant, but I did not feel like the set up was very intuitive. I wasn't sure where I was in the process, or even when I was done. I got emails later telling me I had not finished with the tax set up because I could not tell when I was going through the process that I was not done yet. On the other hand, I did receive an email informing me that I was not done yet, so I did appreciate that. It's good to know the system has checks in place for people like me.

Worth the Switch
It's been a fantastic experience. I moved my entire payroll business over at the beginning of the year. It was a lot of work, but now that it's done, the process is seamless. I would work with their Customer Service team any day of the week. They're the best I've worked with in any industry, honestly.
Pros
Their customer service. Hands down the best I've worked with anywhere. They genuinely listen to my concerns and ask questions that tell me they want to provide what I need. And I like that they're always looking for input to make an even better product.
Cons
Switching from QB Desktop was a struggle. QB is the gold standard as their product is incredibly easy to use, but their prices are driving people away. So, it wasn't really a Patriot issue, more of my own as I learned a new system.

Payroll Made Easy
Overall, I am very happy with Patriot Softwsre and the cost is reasonable and fair for the service provided. Further, it can be a significant saving for a small business owner who normally relegates the responsibility to a bookkeeper or CPA.
Pros
It is generally simple to use once a standard routeen is established. Coming from a system where I calculated it manually and did my own 941, 940, and state reporting, it was a godsend. I also very much appreciate the support when i did have problems in the past. Very responsive and when by phone, not in broken English.
Cons
Setting up employee advances and repayments is not easy and often is incorrect. It makes helping employees more difficult and has resulted in overdeductions and underdeductions.

Big fan of Patriot Payroll
This is the first web-based program I have used and I have been very happy with it. It's easy to navigate and easy to find any reporting I may need.
Pros
Having a website-based payroll system makes it easy to access. I can keep track of paid time off, deductions, garnishments and all the reporting. I appreciate being able to see past reporting and filings as well. It's live time so I can see employees logging in and out of the timeclock. Working with technical support as always been a positive experience, I can get answers right away.
Cons
The con about using this system is that it is not correctly registering our overnight crews clock ins and outs. Because they clock in the next day their hours must be manually corrected. I was told this is being worked on in order to get corrected in the future.
Alternatives Considered
GustoReasons for Choosing Patriot Payroll
Previously the company was using a physical timecard system. Staff would swipe a card in and out. Then you would have to export that time into the software system. This system also did not keep track of overnight time correctly. Everything was very manual and staff couldn't see their timesheets or add in time off.Switched From

Pros

Patriot Rocks!
Despite the direct deposit failure, I love Patriot! They have been wonderful and the system is so easy to use. I can navigate quickly. Payroll used to take 2 hours for my 17 employees, now I am done in 30 minutes and that includes putting their check stubs in envelopes!
Pros
The customer service is the best. Very informative, nice and patient.
Cons
I know it was out of Patriots control but the worst thing that has happened was when the direct deposit failed and our employees did not get their pay. I wish there was a feature to choose the bank you want the direct deposits to go through.

Doing payroll the right way!
Always an excellent experience. When they do mess up, they take ownership and fix it. So much better than the faceless interface to QuickBooks/Intuit.
Pros
They handle all submissions at the federal and state levels. No filing of anything from me!
Cons
Finding the right report to generate, based on their brief two word name, is often challenging. Is it a report? A tax filing? And how to set it up? For example, our yearly workers comp insurance audit requires squaring with quarterly submissions across two years. Generating the right report is tricky!

Patriot Software
Good. It's easy to get a customer service rep. I did have a pretty massive issue wherein I was told that entering hours could either be in HH:MM or Decimal format. That was wrong. It has to be in Decimal. Your staff needs to be 100% trained for critical issues like that.
Pros
It is easy to on-board a new employee, and it's easy to run payroll. Phone support is a huge plus. Chat isn't good for big issues.
Cons
When I need a report, it's not straightforward. I always have to ask for assistance. The report names are vague, and there's too many drop-downs. It doesn't make sense. Also, I really wish I would get an email notification when it's my employees' birthday or work anniversary.

Great Company & Products
A GREAT EXPERIENCE! Easy, can process payroll from anywhere, customer service is top notch!
Pros
The ease of setting up a company and employees was great. It's very easy to process a payroll and if there are any issues, the customer service team is very responsive! The cost of using Patriot is way more affordable than the prior company we were using. Never have regretted the change!
Cons
I haven't found anything that I don't like other than having a quick way to send reports to CPA. Not an issue, just print reports.

Payroll done in a few clicks!
I am very pleased with Patriot Payroll, I have no complaints at all. I have never had any real issues with it.
Pros
You do have to enter all the necessary information in before you can use Patriot Payroll, that was something that had to be done. How much our state and federal taxes will be and coding the companies correctly, but I did receive online help for that and didn't take to much time but after that I have literally had to do nothing but enter the time, we are on direct deposit so I don't have to print any checks.
Cons

Patriot Software payroll processing does everything I need at a reasonable price
See first answer above: it describes my introduction to Patriot Payroll and my experience using it.
Pros
I have 1 part-time employee and process 2 payrolls/month. The payroll processing fees charged by my previous company had increased by a factor of 3 after my first year with them, so I began to look for alternatives. Patriot Software has chat support online M-F and I began asking questions about their services. I was immediately impressed with the quality of their support: all questions (and I asked a lot) were answered immediately, courteously, and correctly.
So, I decided to start working with Patriot. The cost of payroll processing was about 25% of my previous service and the service itself is excellent. Setup takes some time and effort, but, again, any time I had a question it was immediately answered.
Cons
I can't think of anything. I have been working with them for 2 months and I seriously have nothing but praise for their whole payroll operation.

Patriot taxes is perfect for small businesses
I have used it since 2021 for my small business. You can schedule employees, keep track payroll and get ready for tax seasons with no fuss or stress.
Pros
It is easy to use and it has a clean design.
Cons
Setting up the direct deposit was difficult as there was a glitch that kept running me in circles, but that was back in 2021when I set it up so it probably has been fixed.
