Nightly Tip Outs
We set up a system for nightly closers and jr. managers to use the software, and the GM audited their work every morning. Auditing was easy, and mistakes were rare. It's easier and faster than counting and redistributing cash and correcting mistakes is as easy as just distributing money a little differently the next night.
Pros
In an increasingly cashless society, this app allows you to continue tipping staff out nightly. It works great.

Once the money is out, it's gone. So don't make a mistake

Game Changer
From Sales to onboarding and daily use the experience was/is fluid and repeatable.
Pros
We don’t have to keep as much operating cash on hand in the restaurant.Payments to employee in near real time is a game changer for employee buy in.I have referred Kickfin to a similar establishment in a neighboring county.

Ease of search optionsThe online experience is website based and does not adjust to smaller screen display on computer, loose edit buttons outside the fold.No app. But bookmarking website to Home Screen on phone is a decent work around.

First time kickfin user
Pros
Once employees have been entered into the system, Kickfin is super easy to use. No issues with paying employees.
Cons
KickFin has a strange recharge system. Sometimes it takes days for money to hit the account. We have been noticing the lag in recharge happening more often. It's frustrating when the KickFin account doesn't have enough money but they've already taken the money from your business account. For someone who uses KickFin and also does staff payroll, I wish there was an easier way to pull employee wages. The reports show the day to day reporting, rather than a grand total. KickFin pulls it's own pay periods rather than me allowing to choose my dates. I have to go through an add each employees tips for each day of the pay period. Not a huge issue but a little annoying.

Kick Fin is a Cash Saver
We are very happy that we started using Kick Fin for processing tips.
Pros
In the restaurant industry credit cards have become the predominate method of payment. The tips that are reported on the credit cards most often exceed the cash receipts causing our cash to fall negative. Using Kick Fin allows us to track our cash with out running to the bank and it keeps the employees happy because they are still getting paid every night.

Reconciliation can sometimes take some time.

Direct deposit is a huge plus. Their ability to change their pay method when needed is also really handy.
Cons
It is annoying having to do the 2-step verification. Didn't use to have to, but I understand the security of it. Just not a fan is all

I love it!
I enjoy it! A lot easier than using cash, and most users prefer the quick direct deposit.
Pros
It is very easy to use. Cashing out employees only takes seconds. It is also very easy to add users. I appreciate the fact that new users can be sent invites via email or text.
Cons
I don't like the recent update, just because it adds another step to cashing out users. It does not affect the ease of use, however.

Kickfin Review for A Restaurant
Very easy to use. Less money handling equals fewer counting mistakes!
Pros
Before Kickfin, we paid out the staff with cash every night. So, we needed lots of money on hand. Now we aren't carrying nearly as much cash. And the server checkout is a lot quicker.
Cons
Staff was upset about the 75cent charge per person each shift. They got over it. Also, we've accidentally paid out the wrong person a couple of times. Wish there was a was refund their payment to the main account so we can pay the correct person.

Kickfin is great!
We used to pay credit card tips in cash from the safe. That left us constantly negative for our deposits and safe. We had to go the bank frequently to get more cash. Now- Kickfin makes it convenient and easy to pay tips to servers and bartenders. Life saver!!

Kickfin is easy to use- both for the employees getting paid and the managers who input all the info. It pays immediately after we send information.
Cons
I wish it would integrate with Toast POS. We had to create excel worksheets to make it work with Toast reports, & Toast cash in.

Kickfin Review
I will say, honestly it has been an easy transition and much nice process than I thought it would be. I also can appreciate the team's willingness to hear feedback and adjustments sited from users like myself.
Pros
I love the addition of the (-1) feature at payment, makes things easier for reconciling. I like the ease of the process and how quickly it works.
Cons
When making a payment without a tipped group I feel like there could be a more efficient way of entering the team team members into the "sheet" or grid. Even a simple thing of being able to search a team member then hit "enter" key instead of having to click them over could make things flow quicker esp. for a bigger team, like one of my locations has. Also alphabetizing the team members in the drop down list could save some time as well.
